The Price for a Ghost writer

I have posted a job on Guru.com for a ghost writer. Right now bids are coming in at about 7 - 12 dollars per page for original content. I am providing the table of content, some research. My question is if this is a fair target price range I can be looking at? Also, if you have any recomendations for good ghost writers I'd love to hear about them.

    Are you just getting articles written or actual pages for a website? If you are just getting article written then that pretty average although you can get ezinearticles compliant written arrticles too for $3/ 500 word article on Odesk too.

    As for content page i'm not positive.

    Depends on what you want for the the quality of the finished product. If each page is 400 words and you're paying less than $8 a page you're probably going to get a writer whose first language isn't English. I have a number of websites and on occasion, rare occasion, I will hire someone to ghostwrite. You don't get much quality at the low end of the pay scale.

    Keep in mind I'm biased because I am a writer. My rates are a higher but I've got the credentials to back it up.

      It's less than I'd charge, but twelve bucks a page is probably where you're going to find somebody decent. Especially on competitive bidding sites, there's a reasonable correlation between cost and quality*.




      *Since somebody will inevitably come along and crow about their totally awesome writer who writes Pultizer prize material for a one half penny a page, there are expensive writers who suck and cheap writers who rock.

    I've used these US based guys for the last few months :

    Usually a 600 word article costs around $10-$12 US and they are very, very good, in fact they've just completed my latest Free eBook

    "The Magic Button Myth is Dead"

    and have done an excellent job at a very competitive price, more importantly they are very reliable and complete on time and (IMHO) over deliver.

    Like others have mentioned, there are much cheaper services around but I think you definately get what you pay for.
