Would You Help Me Update My Presentation Equipment... This Old School Stuff Is A Pain!

Hello everyone and thanks for helping me out.

Briefly: I use seminar marketing to fill my lead funnel with qualified local business owners.

I've been using a slide projector, which is set up in front of white screen.

The problem is that the projector gets in the way of the attendees view and the fan noise can get annoying. And quite frankly, it's a pain setting up and to use.

I'd like to get rid of the slide projector set-up and get something that's more updated, easy to use and has some sort of a remote control that can all be run with a laptop if possible.

Do you know what I would need to set something like that up? Is it possible to control everything from a laptop? And if it is, is there any software programs that could handle the slides as well as video?

Any of your suggestions would be greatly appreciated because when it comes to the technology side of the business, I'm a total dunce.

In return for your help, I'd be willing to tell you how I book 20 to 25 business owners into the seminar twice a month, if you're interested. I do it twice a month, but you can do 1 or more a week if you have the resources. I average 10 to 12 appointments and close 5 to 7 deals from each seminar.

Thanks,
Mike

You must not be selling a technology solution.

Powerpoint (or Keynote) + laptop/notebook + projector. There are lots of wireless mouse solutions for presenters.

Yes it can be done via a laptop and a projector.

You might want to read a few reviews.

      lol...What a rude site! :p

Yeah, get a laptop with VGA out (most have this), Powerpoint, a new projectorprojector and a remote clickerclicker . Finally, a male to male VGA cordmale to male VGA cord to connect the laptop to the projector.

      Extremely portable, quiet and professional.

All the products I linked to are top picks by reviewers at Amazon.

Learn Powerpoint here: www.lynda.com. Best $25/mth you'll ever spend.

Wow... thanks for the quick replies:

@Kelly --- very funny! Yeah, I know, here I am selling IM to business owners, but haven't found a good solution for my own technological problems. Goes to show you, you don't need to be a techie to make money.

Where can I get trained on using Powerpoint, laptop and project?

Thanks for your help (& humor)....

Would you know how I could get trained using that set-up?

Thanks for your help. (I would really like to know how you did that cool link thing.)

And don't forget to read the various 'death by powerpoint' essays on the net. Keep it simple and don't use any of the many stupid animations that bore folks silly.

Good luck. You have been given good advice here, especially getting a 'presenter' remote control to allow you to wander around. Don't forget to switch off your screen saver.
