CAN-SPAM Problems Anyone?

So I'm trying to e-mail a bunch of VENDORS on a list I purchased in order to BUY things from them.

Not SELL, but BUY.

I am doing this on behalf of a client who is worried that mass-contacting via e-mail of companies with whom they do not have a previous relationship with is not allowed.

But how am I suppose to do business with people? I mean, you go to a website, you want to buy something so you send them an e-mail to a sales/info address.

The only difference is that I had a paid crawler collect the information, and now I want to e-mail these guys in order to buy something they sell - there are simply too many vendors and too little time to call them all - I'm talking thousands!

I am interested to hear your opinion because this CANSPAM thing is getting to me a bit.

Most sellers are tickled to hear from potential buyers...

The CANSPAM was designed more to stop people from abusing potential prospects, with no intent to stop buyers from contacting sellers...

Right, but this act is pretty strict with spamming of any kind.
I'd suggest you to use a mass email sender program and limit the outgoing emails about 2 mails per minute.

I have had some success with this limitation.
