Is CLICKBANK To Be Avoided

Hi All

Just wondered if any product owners in the IM would share their wisdom.

About to launch in the IM market some products and am wondering if I should use Rapid Action Profits and Paypal or Clickbank.

My concern with selling an IM product through CB are

1) Do people buy through their own link ... does CB pay them?
2) Do people buy and deliberately go for a refund just to get a freebie.

Love to hear everyones advice

John

    Hi Mangozoom,

I say don't avoid Clickbank. There may be some affiliates who buy from their links but as a product owner you don't worry for that. You will get your share. Second point is Clickbank has very strict rules and you can not easily fool them. New affiliate will not get their first check until they sell affiliate product to five different buyers (using different credit cards. For detail and exact policy see the Clickbank FAQ). Clickbank is not new in the field so we can trust.

The only problem I see with Clickbank is that they hold your money, until after the guarantee period has been met...

Other than that, I see no reason not to use Clickbank... They will give you access to hundreds of thousands of affiliate marketers, which could work in your favor...

I have no experience with RAP Bank, so I cannot comment there...

I don't use paypal for anything more than payment processing... They are not to my knowledge going to offer you any advantage beyond processing your payment for you...

When can we expect to see these 10 personal rules for product selection show up in a WSO, Alexa? (Your fans want to hear from you)

Good point. With regular people, even though they can have their own affiliate link, they can't collect the comission with the minimum amount of commissions, sales, and credit card number, but a CB affiliate can do that easily.

Anyway, I've been a CB affiliate for quite a while and I can assure you that there will be refund, but it only once in a while. It's not going to affect your entire business or anything.

Good List!...Number #5 seems counter-intuitive, (staying away from big gravity numbers) but it has worked well for me too.

Launch through CB becuase people will buy through their own links and this will increase your gravity very fast. The higher gravity the more visibility, thus more buying leads.

Do not be greedy... who cares if their buy through their own link... you will have a lot more buying leads you can upsell later.

Hi Alexa ... love your criteria, would you expand on your thoughts about the Gravity not being too high as I thought the higher the better?

I guess my only concern is that if other affiliates promote my product they will get robbed of thier commission ...

      Hammer-Nail-Head.

What's to stop people from sharing links or sending files to one another anyway.

After 6 years, it''s really only a small minority... and they can get via Paypal anyways.

There was big thread on here about a Warrior who's income went thru the roof.. not Paypal have frozen his account and money for 180 days.

At least with CB, you have instant affiliate program ready to go.

The other option which I use is PayDotCom.com

I now have 2 sister sites... one for CB and one with PDC.

To clarify, CB only holds back a % of total sales as protection. But they are trigger happy on refunds.

Paypal... yes you get your money, but they can close you down.

IMO, if I make 1000 sales and get a 10% refund... it's a nice problem to have.

If someone uses their CB link to buy... then you get 50% of a sale that you never had in the first place.
