How to Dominate Google Results Without Backlinks!

Hello Warriors:

I have been reading a lot of threads about link building and the importance of it. And overall, I agree. Link building is important for some sites. However, there actually is a way to dominate the top 10 of Google and other search engines without significant link building!

The answer is simple. Find a low competition keyword! Yes, it is very possible to rank quite well with only 1 or 2 backlinks (or sometimes none at all) if you choose your keywords wisely.

I also want to mention that I practice what I preach here. Over the past 12 months so, I started building these niche websites in mass. I discovered a method that works for me to uncover profitable keywords that still have low competition. I now have about 300 of these small websites that are monetized by Google Adsense.

So, how do you find keywords that you can rank well for without all the headaches of backlinks? Here is my process:

1. Find a keyword that typically receives between 1,000 to 10,000 exact searches each month.
2. Check competing pages in Google for low competition (use SEO for Firefox plugin for quick analysis).
a. Only target keywords that have at least 2 to 3 competing pages in Google that have a PageRank of 0.
b. Only target keywords that meet criteria "a" AND those pages also have no backlinks to them.
c. Focus on competing pages that do not have the exact keywords in the Title of the resulting page.
3. Register the exact match .com, .net, or .org domain name
4. Create useful and valuable content - 100% ORIGINAL ONLY!!!
5. Make sure the exact keyword is in the Title & mentioned in the body of the article approximately 1% of the time.
6. Get site indexed by submitting XML sitemap to Google and/or social bookmarking.
7. Backlinks may be optional! Add one or two basic links and then watch your site for a few weeks. Add more links only after a month or so. You will be surprised how many of your sites don't need the additional links!

So, there you have it: A 7 step formula that I do actively use to build micro niche adsense websites. These steps work.

So can you really dominate Google without backlinking? Absolutely! It all depends on the keywords that you choose and the level of competition that those keywords have.

Let me know your thoughts!

There's usually a reason those keywords are low in competition.

I tested this strategy out a few years ago with 1200 sites - that's how many I found I needed in order to it to be worthwhile. In the end I stopped because I could make the same money in one month doing other things.

I found that building up authority sites for more competitive keywords made more money because the conversions and sales prices were better.

It's easy to find low hanging fruit keywords - but they're usually not buying phrases and so you end up needing to make sure people have very little option but to click an Ad or their back button in order to make money.

It's certainly doable but it ends up being a numbers game and that's fine if you're only after some income rather than a business but for me it was just too tedious to keep me interested.

    Andy:
I know you said you built 1200 sites a few years ago testing out this strategy; however, from your post, there are a few clues that indicate your strategy was different from the one I was indicating.

It appears that you were trying to sell products or doing other affiliate marketing with your sites and NOT focusing on Google Adsense as I have indicated.

Because I focus on Adsense, I don't need to find buying keywords (which are much tougher competition anyway); I just need the visitor to click an ad. My guess is that sites that tried to employ this strategy that tried to sell products/affiliate products would do quite poorly UNLESS there was tons of content. (Which is what you have indicated was needed by building authority sites).

The key to success is finding low competition - and that takes alot of work. Its not easy to find results pages with 2 ranked websites with a PR of 0 and no backlinks as well (from my steps listed above).

Overall, I'm sure you can do quite well with authority websites. I have a few myself. However, I personally do much better from these niche adsense websites. That's what is great about internet marketing, lots of different strategies work for different people - which sounds like the case for you and I.

Actually, Andy's quite correct. Even if you're just focusing on AdSense revenue, your typical CPC is going to be much higher with buying keywords.

You're right that it's easy to rank well with no competition keywords, but often they pay next to nothing per click. It's a case of reaching the best compromise between the low competition keywords and the little extra effort needed to rank for the better-paying keywords.

And if you're going to make the effort, you might as well do it with an authority site.

      Or get a few backlinks.

I agree that the CPC will usually be higher with buying keywords; however, that are plenty of markets out there where I personally make on average over $1 per click on non-buying keywords.

        Markets such as:
        Automobiles
        Finance
        Education
        And many others

Lots of markets pay quite well, even though its not a "buying" keyword.

Besides, that really not what I was trying to say in the original post. I'm simply saying that if you do your keyword research correctly you can still find GREAT keywords out there that don't take herculean efforts on link building to dominate.

This can be done with small niches with around 500 searchs a month
