Article marketing works great. You should also try some video marketing and press release marketing. All are free and all are very effective ways to generate traffic.

Another great way to generate traffic is to contribute to JV events. If you do participate in them make sure to have a good gift.

If you do it right, articles and video marketing are one of the more effective ways to get traffic.

Of course if you have a website and properly optimised for the top 3 positions in that particular niche it will also generate reasonable amount of targeted traffic.

Article marketing is probably still the best way to get good traffic through your squeeze page. Also forum marketing works well.

You might also like to head over to some related blogs on the the subject that you're marketing and post some comments, with a link to your website of course. Some blogs attract a lot of attention, and if your comments are good enough, they'll get noticed.

Video marketing is of course another great way to get traffic although it's a little bit harder to pull off.

Article
Videos
Forums

You want to make sure that you have a good set of keywords and optimize your articles properly. Since your squeeze page probably won't rank you want to get your articles to #1 for the intended keyword phrase.

Also, don't forget to back link your articles. You could use a link wheel type of strategy and link each article to the next one plus do social bookmarking to them.

When your list gets to about 200, try adswaps which will dramatically increase your number of subscribers.

Article marketing and forum posting can work but you should use different content for them that search engines don't detect them duplicated.
I tried this and when i submit one text to different places, i don';t get good results and visitors.

Your issue is with the original poster. I copied/pasted the link from his sig file on this thread.

I'm guessing you missed the irony of a poster asking how to get traffic to build a list while promoting a product that promises the same thing.

Article marketing - unique content is a gem
Press release sites work great make sure each pr is unique
Blog comments do only a few a day and try and contribute something to the conversation or blog than just writing a couple of words, it will be picked up and then you comment will not get through
Yahoo answers is a great one - but be careful couple a day every day will work best

I would start with article marketing and spend enough time with this method in order to get a real good handle on it. Once you have a good handle on it you can start learning how to use backlinking strategies to get your articles on the first page of google. It is a step by step process and you want to make sure you know the ins and outs of article marketing first before you move further on with the plan.

The biggest benefit is that this will be lasting and targeted traffic that will convert for you.
