Hey warriors,

I am a sucker for putting myself on the line. So here goes.

I have just purchased CommissionBlueprint recommended by Frank Kern, and I am putting my heart into it. Never done adwords before...

But I am a daddy of 5 day old Luther now... So things are getting serious.

    I guess the biggest lessons are:
    • Prepare for the dip. Starting a business is far easier than making it successful. You need to see a path and have the resources to get through it.
    • Cliff businesses are glamorous but dangerous.
    • Projects exist in an eco-system. Who are the other players? How do you fit in?
    • Being the dumbest partner in a room of smart people is exactly where you want to be.
    • And the biggest of all: persist. Do the next one.

    One nugget to take with you:

    It's better to have few clicks and high-percentage of sales than lots of clicks and low-percentage of sales. Those clicks eat a lot of profits.

    This may seem obvious, but the thing that kills most PPC players is the cost factor of their clicks. It can be more profitable to compete for long-tail keywords then the regular keywords in your niche. Yes, there will be fewer sales, but they will likely be more profitable campaigns.

    Once you learn how your landing pages need to be set up to score well, you will then be able to compete on the regular keywords without getting killed on your click costs.

    Just my opinion.

    Col stuff - keep those ad groups very very tight - one keyword per group should keep you out of trouble.
