How do you test Amazon products?

Hey all.

I just wondered what your methods are for testing products on Amazon in regards to their viability as an affiliate product? I know keyword research etc is huge but is there a way you can test to see if people might have an interest in the product before building a blog/website based on the product?

I use common sense many times with Amazon. I have a few niches mainly in the tech field (because I can write about them and they will always be popular)

Keyword research is great but I know people will always buy T.V., Cameras, computers and so on. I usually go for the long haul products and adjust accordingly based on new models and so on. I still get more searches for some older models of products than their newest.

Here's my secret to profitable Amazon sites:

    1) Pick a product category
    2) Open the Google keyword tool
    3) Type in the product name
    4) If it gets searches - BOOM

For example, say there is a product called 'Titan T180 Coffee Maker' (I know there isn't but for example purposes only) type that product name into the Google keyword tool. If people are searching for that product name it typically means that they're looking to justify their purchase.

Simply put up a review style page with review snippets from Amazon and link out to the product via your affiliate link with 'Click here to read the revew in full'.

I'm getting 4 sales in 100 visits from this method and I have TONS of sites.

    Enjoy!

Check the reviews for the product on Amazon. If you've seen a lot of RECENT reviews that are positive then that's a good sign!
