How do you test Amazon products?

Hey all.

I would like to ask what your methods are for testing products on Amazon in regards to their viability as an affiliate product? I know keyword research etc is huge but is there a way you can test to see if people might have an interest in the product before building a blog/website based on the product?

Build a dedicated HubPage initially. This will give you a fairly reliable indicator.

Generally I just go by the user reviews on Amazon. Something which has a five star rating and more than 20 reviews is certainly a viable product to promote, especially so if its in the best seller list and is receiving at least 1000 exact searches monthly.

    I hope that helps.

I like to go with at least "4" star average products....you should be able to find plenty of products! Read the reviews...If you have a lot of positive RECENT responses, then you know already that there is good public interest in the product

Thanks for the ideas guys. I have built a few hubpages for products I am interested in. Do you think I should be looking at pageviews or sales to determine the value? I am going to combine the hubpages results with the reviews on Amazon to make my decision.

    Thank you for your help.

Build an authority site - build a good youtube channel - have resellers send you products to test - make videos - post a review on your blog - put amazon banners on the blog post.

Expected time line - 3+ years.
