Whois doesn't seem to work anymore...

Does anyone know how I can find out info on a domain name that's taken?

I've tried Whois, but it just tells me it's with godaddy.

The domain's not in use, a black hole... I remember being able to see when the domain will expire, with whois. Is there another site that can provide this information?

Cheers

They changed the rules several years ago. The 2nd tier registrars are now responsible for maintaining contact info. A lot of whois scripts actually had to be modified to support the change.

Anyway, they HAVE limited access, which is one reason so many places have the captcha now.
