will my site be taken seriously if I advertise on my future blog?

Hi all.

My current website deals with only one product (our own invoicing software)

currently I'm in the process of preparing a bunch of articles featuring some nice information on invoicing and other invoicing/financials related small business advice.

I'm considering having a few articles written on debt factoring (invoice debiting) which is the process of obtaining short term loans based on current outstanding invoices.

When I have all these articles written I'll put them up on my site blog and I am considering seeking out an affiliate program or two for the debt factoring articles.

Would this be OK from a conversion point of view? or would it make my website seem less professional? (naturally the site will not be plastered with affiliate links and banners, just a few discrete text links at the buttom of 3-5 articles.)

Thanks

If the services you promote are worthwhile, a few discreet links at the end of your articles (which you might format like an author resource box) should be fine.

To keep things totally on the up and up, you should probably put a disclosure somewhere that you do have a business relationship with those vendors.

As long as the ads are tastefully displayed, it should not harm
    your conversions or professional image.
