Paying For Traffic

I've used paid traffic before and what I used works but it's basically useless. The absolute ONLY thing I could see being a benefit of it is to get your Alexa Rank up higher and even then... Who really cares?

The problem is many times it is just giant bot networks, you'll see traffic coming from almost the exact same IP blocks or it's even from people "paid" to surf the internet, thus they obviously get .00001 or so a website so they're not spending much time on your site...

Well I mean that because the traffic won't convert. What do you plan to use the traffic for? I've never experienced any kind of profits from purchasing traffic.

I am selling a new acne product, so I figured that if I got traffic targeted for beauty I would make a couple sales. But no conversions is what I am worried about.

That is the thing that we all worry about with different traffic schemes...

If in the end a certain traffic source fails to deliver sales conversions, it is practically worthless to us...

I have tried that paid traffic you are talking about, and conversions were nil.... So I stopped doing that...

It all comes down to this... We must be willing to test something before we can call it a waste of money... Nothing ventured, nothing gained...

If you are afraid to gamble on anything, you will limit the possibilities for your business...

The acne niche might just work because those free traffic jobs are probably just a bunch of kids locked up in a room whose job is to click on client links all day...and they probably are all at the age where they do indeed have acne.

On a serious note. The only traffic that is worth anything is organic traffic from search engines and targeted lists. Paid traffic is kinda questionable IMO...

You are probably better off going the SEO, PPC, IM routes...

Well I mean you can try it but I've done the same thing a couple of times (because you can get thousands of visitors for like $10) and have zero conversions and no one stayed on the site longer then 5 seconds. And most of the "targeting" is everyone because people will select "im interested in every type of website" so they can earn more.

If it had worked for me I would just build 100 micro niche sites and get that paid traffic but unfortunately it didn't. You can always try however and report back if it does?

I agree with TPW, you just never know. If you can find cheap targeted traffic then give it a try, you may just have the perfect combination of traffic/offer/page to make it convert, even at a .000001 conversion rate it can usually make it profitable...! Good luck!

Just because it's paid traffic it doesnt mean it will convert. Usually you still need to test and tweak throughly before you see any results. Unfortunatley I learned this the expensive way.

My approach to paid traffic now is to develop a through testing plan that will filter and refine until you have got quality traffic at a good price. I usually test with $5 bursts if i'm buying mobile traffic. Other traffic usually $15 bursts for each phase.

It can get expensive but your paying for the time advantage. Once you have figured out the conversion volume and price you can start making profits very quickly!

You have nailed the concept here... You must test and track, then plug in more money on the models that produce real results...

I dont believe in paid traffic, especially as most of it is untargetted. I have found that Rent-A-List is the best and will get you some conversions, but dont expect to move in next to Bill Gates overnight!

Paying to get traffic to your site can be done provided they have got a good record of satisfying their customers in the past by a great performance. Most of such sites prove to be scams and people lose heavy money.

I've used this site called paidtoclick and it looks like it works, my google analytics shows unique visitors, but one problem is you can only use it on personal sites.Another problem is they are useless when it comes to optimizing client sites. And a potential problem is the bounce rate is terrible,I wouldn't be surprised if Google slaps sites for using services of this nature. Use at your own discretion.

It depends upon how the traffic is generated. It has to be
targeted traffic, someone actually looking for what you're
selling.

Type in traffic and traffic "diverted" from the search engines
works beautifully.

Traffic delivered using pop-unders and other such schemes,
is usually useless.

How useful the traffic proves to be also depends upon how
refined your conversion process is.
