    Dr Mani,

Your questions are great, but I'd like to suggest that they could be more useful if phrased differently.

The way you have worded them leads to answers that are quite negative and dis-empowering.

I suggest that your questions are great starters but should be immediately followed (if not replaced) as below:

    * Why aren't you making as much money as you want to?
What do you have to do to make as much money as you want?

    * Why aren't you studying others who are doing it already?
What will it take to study others who are doing it already?

    * Why are you reluctant to change and experiment with new things?
What will it take to enjoy change and relish experimenting with new things?

    * Why are prospects not buying your product or service?
How do you get prospects to buy your service or product?

    * Why are you not completing that project you're working on?
What needs to change so you will complete that project your working on?

    * Why haven't you found yourself a mentor yet?
Where and how will you find a mentor?

    * Why are you afraid to ask questions, or for help?
What help do you need and who shall you ask?

    * Why are you flitting and fleeting from one idea to another?
How will you keep focus on one idea at a time?

    * Why haven't you build a big network of contacts, friends, partners?
What will it take, specifically, to build a big network of contacts, friends, partners?

    * Why is your list not big enough?
How do you make your list big enough?

    * Why do you limit the number of marketing channels you are tapping?
How will you tap into as many marketing channels as possible?

    * Why haven't you built marketing systems into your business?
What do you need to do to build your marketing systems into your business?

    * Why are you not following a marketing routine every day?
What needs to happen so you follow a marketing routine every day?

Whilst it is important to realise faults in your business activities, it's more important to find the solutions. Without asking empowering questions some folk will find the answers to why they're not doing something and just stay there, not thinking to ask the next, vital part, 'What do I do about it?'

I've been thinking about this post over the day or so and I don't think we should underestimate the power of the questions we should and could be asking ourselves.

Dr Mani has given us a great start and these questions deserve daily consideration.

Well done on rephrasing the questions Pete.

I trained as a coach back in June 2000, and one of the
things we were taught was to stay away from the "why"
question wherever possible - because people tend to
become defensive with these type of questions.

There are of course times when the "why" questions need
to be confronted - but they should be the exception
      rather than the rule.

"What" and "how" type questions tend to be much more
solution-oriented and like you mentioned - empowering.

The essence of the questions from Dr Mani are great - it's
just the phrasing that needed to be re-worded - which you
      did very nicely.

The first set reminded me of the question: how many times
      do you beat your wife?

The first set of questions were leading questions but you've
opened them up to focus on solutions.

Never underestimate the power of questions. The quality of
your life can be greatly influenced by the quality of questions
you ask yourself (from Tony Robbins!).

      Thanks to both of you.

      Dedicated to your success,

      Shaun

Such as "WHY did you beat your wife?" maybe?!

        All success

P.S. - Great rephrasing, Peter. And great point, Shaun.
