What's The Easiest Way To Get Started? Your Own Product or Affiliate Marketing?

Hi To Everyone,

Having recently completed my course with Dave Nicholson I am trying to decide what the easiest route to take will be.

I understand the importance of list building but as a newcomer am I better off starting as an affiliate or do I continue down the route of product creation?

I would be very grateful for advise from others with more experience than me, if anyone could help

Thanks
Kerry

    Easiest?

Affiliate sales. Creating a product that is a good and will sell (not always the same thing) requires time or money or both. Affiliate sales does a lot of the heavy lifting for you, which is definitely good for someone starting out.

      Thanks for the advice Justin,

Throughout my learning curve on the internet I do keep coming across the same conclusion I was just a little unsure because my mentor took us down the route of product creation but it wasn't long before I soon saw the time, effort and costs involved. Besides that as a newcomer I don't feel I have enough experience to jump in at such a high level.

Your help was very much appreciated

    I agree with Justin.

First affiliate marketing requires very little knowledge compared to having your own product.

Second it is much easier to venture from affiliate marketing to having your own product since you can start building your own list to which to promote.

Thirdly it is a lot easier for you to understand your affiliates and to build relationships with them if you have walked in their shoes previously.

Affiliate marketing is easier to start with. This is because the affiliate products are ready to be promoted online. There are also promotional items or tools to use for quickly starting your business. You will easily receive the support you need for your business. There are many other advantages you will get when using affiliate products as compared to your own. Then after you have learned somethings, you can start developing your own products. I hope that helps. Good luck.

    Affiliate marketing is much easier.

But, always keep the end in mind and if you want to create your own product, then make sure that while you are building your list for affiliate sales that you are doing it in a niche where you will eventually build a product.

That way, when the time comes for your to create your own product, you will have a list of ready buyers!

The old saying in this choice is that you can't sell your own products until you learn how to sell someone else's.

The basis of this is that they have the proven seller, the slick sales page, the promo tools and can advise you.

Whereas if you start out with your own products you are diving in heard first on your first trip to the pool so to speak. The coaching programs are obviously never going to teach it from this angle, but it is very true for most newbies.

The money is in the LIST. You definitely want to come up with or follow a plan to build your list. You may be new but every multi-millionaire had to start from somewhere. I would recommend starting with affiliate products first. Build your brand by creating excellent content through a blog, then create products.

Cut your teeth on affiliate sales, learn how to sell there, then move on to your own products. The lessons you learn selling other people's products will pay off two fold later on.

I started off with affiliate marketing. IMO I learned everything I needed to know about product development and promotion from that. Looking back it just seems like a necessary step in the learning procedure.

It helped me develop a better product in the long run.
