Hi Warriors!

I'm soooo frustrated! I've created a video for my website, but can't seem to get it online!

I recorded the video with my FLIP camera instead and have edited it in Sony Vegas Movie Studio HD 9.0c. All I did was cut off the first and last few seconds so people couldn't see me leaning forward to turn on and off the camera. (I want the video to be as professional as possible.)

Unfortunately, the file saves as a .vf file when the original file was a .avi file. I tried "rendering" it as an .avi file, but none of my media players will play it.

So I thought I'd do a workaround and upload it directly to YouTube since Vegas it has that feature. When it uploaded to YouTube, there's sound but no video!

I'm NOT techie at all and have no idea what the problem might be. Can someone please help me??? I just want to upload this slightly edited video and I can't seem to do it!!!

Please help!

Michelle

    Dear Michelle..

Don't get frustrated!, it is not the solution you are looking for..

Have you searched for .vf file online? I mean little information about .vf file and how they created? It is necessary to find out. I don't think so that you r the only one facing his problem. May be some "File Converter" is available!! Search for such converters, You will find some solution.

From the research I've done, you can save any video file in almost any common video format you want in Sony Vegas, thus converting it. But that didn't work for me.

      Thanks for the thought.

Does anyone here have any video knowledge experience with FLIP video and Sony Vegas???

You could possibly use Quicktime to convert the video. Or (I use this sometimes) there is a program called iSkysoft video converter. I use a Mac, and could not use wmv files. I got iSkysoft and was able to convert them. I dont know if this will help you, but I hope it does!

Actually, my version of Sony Vegas saves files with a .vf extension. But it quickly became apparent that it doesn't upload! (Well, I WAS able to upload to YouTube with the wizard, but the video then only had audio and no video!)

Fortunately, I was able to get in contact with Perry Lawrence of AskMrVideo.com and we're in the middle of scheduling a call so he can help me. Hopefully, he'll be able to help iron out the problem for me so I can shoot and upload videos that actually WORK!

I use Media Converter - the fastest free online audio and video converter (not an affiliate link) for all of my conversions. It's worked great for me..simply upload the file...select which format you want (I would suggest .mov) and click next. Then re-download it.

I personally stay away from .avi's because they tend to be a much large file size. .mov makes it smaller and allows for faster uploads.
