Doe an apostraphe make a difference in a keyword?

Hey guys,

I have a 5 word tailed keyword that I am going to be making into a domain name, in order to be able to generate some income for my father in law's wood working service. That being said, this keyword has some 3,000-4,000 searches each month, and, only 48K sites, and, I think that with a bit of tweaking, we can get to the top of the list.

The main keyword has an apostrophe - the word "children's." So, will I miss out if there is not the apostrophe in the domain name?

Jeremy

Sorry to burst your bubble, but you can't have an apostrophy in a domain name. It is not a valid character.

For the retail business I had, I wanted cincinnati's best dot com - all run together. The apostrophy would not work. It became CincinnatisBest dot com.

This was for a local business. Good thing, because the only people who can spell Cincinnati are those who live here.

Oh, I know that you can't have an apostrophe in a domain name - which is why I want to make sure that I am not wasting money on buying the domain name.

I don't really believe your domain name is that important for search engine optimization. You should focus on getting back-links that promote for that keyword

FWIW, actually, it is a great way to get better rankings.

It's not the ONLY way, but having the keyword(s) as the domain name or a major part of the domain name does boost rankings.
