Yes, but only within the U.S.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

    Hi Matt,
No afraid not. However one of the biggest direct marketers and longest known is a fellow warrior - Jim Straw.

Are you thinking about getting into direct mail marketing? What type of products to you plan on promoting?

Here are a couple of sites I direct people to when they ask about direct mail:

    Hope that helps!

I plan on getting involved with direct marketing once I have about $100,000 extra budget to blow. One of my favorite marketers is Vincent James...he made $100 Million in like 2 years selling a $60 product through direct mail!

All the time. The Gary Halbert Letter is *must* reading material for direct mail.

          Hell yeah!

I'm really not sure why people wouldn't if they really have a passion for marketing.

It's not widely known but most of the really big names in internet marketing use direct marketing to sell their higher priced products and services.

The simplest way to do it is to just start physically mailing higher priced offers to customers who've already bought from you.

You can even score huge points by sending a gift CD or DVD in the mail along with a sales letter for a higher priced product or service.

There are many strategies you can use.

Snail mail will usually get you 5-20 times the response you'll get from email but it does have a cost so you want to choose your mailing list carefully.

            Kindest regards,

About 90% of my marketing is Offline because of the high price. Its more effective with high priced items to contact your target market directly and refer them to your website.

Depending on your product, cold calling my be your best option. I like calling during off hours and leave a message like "We are introducing Turbosonic in your area and are looking for a local health professional to refer our clients to. You can see more about us at www.ShakeFit.com" This turns the focus from our product to their recieving referral customers from us and about 95% of those who I call check my site within 12 hours.

When I taught massage therapy in California, I tought new therapists to call local Chiropractors and instead of asking for referrals, simply introduce yourself as a new massage therapist in the area who is looking for a local chiropractor to refer your clients to.

People are always more receptive to anyone offering them an opportunity to build their business.

Direct marketing has always out performed for me.

Good point, Andrew. For those who are thinking of dipping their toes into direct mail, the best place to start is with your house list.

After all, if you can't convert there, you're generally not going to convert on a cold list, no matter how targeted.

I love direct marketing. If you ever get a chance to read any of Dan Kennedy's materials on the subject, you will be well on your way being a success in this area.

In one of my other businesses, I ran a call center (60 people). Telemarketing is great for certain products, and was a lot of fun.

My current business utilizes both offline and online marketing. In fact, I actually got started (2 and a half years ago) by simply making a cold call. I had intended to offer my service for free to get some experience. However, when I explained how my service could help her organization, she immediately asked "how much?". I wasn't expecting the question, but quickly gave her an answer. She accepted, and I've been fulltime ever since.

Some amazing and varied responses! I especially like the point that a lot of big names Internet Marketers promote their stuff by Direct Mail. I can think of at least 3 big names in the UK who do that and I am sure anyone in the UK knows who I mean.

Yes, I am interested in Direct Marketing, there are a wide variety of products sold. Not just "Business Opportunity" type stuff, but you see a lot of vitamin pills, kitchen gadgets, all that type of stuff....

Yes, I definitly do. Up until recently I used completely offline methods for lead generation. However, I found the online stuff to be cheaper & faster. But for certain niches and products, offline is a great way to reach them.
