I really need to make my own product...

... but I'm not much of a writer
Writing my own lead magnets is enough work as it is.

How many of you marketers actually do this?
Any suggested resources?

You just gotta do it, basically. Your first efforts might suck.

Arguably making screen-cap videos is quicker than writing
    a quality info-product.

You still find a "pain" in the marketplace and offer a solution
    with a salesletter, etc.

One way to do it is find a pain, break it down into specific
criteria, write a salesletter for a product that solved the
problems, and then create the product after the letter is
    roughed-out.

    I have found writers at:

    Junior Colleges
    Universities
    Craigslist
    Elance.com
    Guru.com

I have joint ventured with professionals to get my products created such as:

    Dog trainers
    Opthamologists
    Nutritionists
    Therapists
    Psychiatrists
    Professional skateboarders

A lot of marketers do this. It's just a matter of putting a deal together that's a win-win for both of you.

There are a lot of ways of getting your own product to promote
    in the market.

    1) You could buy one off flippa.
    2) You could buy PLR product(s) and re-brand/rewrite them.
    3) You could hire a warrior or a freelancer writer to create one for you
    4) You could do it yourself.

I always prefer to do it myself because it gives me the peace of mind
that I'll be able to present the information perfectly and in right proportion
    to my readers.
Writing your own reports or creating your own products (could be a video or
audio also) does helps you build a certain brand for yourself.

Look out for my upcoming WSO about writing your own reports in 10 hours...

    All the best

Say it. Record it. Pay someone to write it for you.

How's that for a time saver?

People make good money selling to the rich. But the rich got rich selling to the masses.

Ditto - use speech recognition software.

You could also do a video based product. Everyone seems to love video.

I write my own stuff for ebooks, but if you're not much of a writer, there are plenty here on the Warrior Forum in Warriors for Hire section plus all the other freelance sites out there.

Excuses! If you think you CAN, then you can. If you think you CAN'T, then you can't.

  • I also hate the product creation part, because it's the grinding of this business in my opinion. Yet we have to get off our butts and do it!

Are you in the IM niche? Make a post here on the forum and interview a bunch of the top warriors, make some videos with it and call it someting sexxy.

Why do you have to write anything? Why does your own product have to be an ebook? Why not software? Thanks for reminding me - I almost forgot I just picked up more PLR software just last week - I need to stop collecting and start doing. You aor anyone want to go 50/50 and make some money, let me know. Broke people welcome - you won't need any money if you've got the time.

It gets easier the more you do it.

Just type what you're thinking and edit it later. Or edit as you go along. Whatever works for you.

If it's a niche where a conversational tone will work, so much the better. You don't have to worry as much about being prim and proper about your use of language. You merely need to write clearly enough to be understood.

You don't need to be a professional writer. You just need to have a firm grasp of the English language.

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.

Powerpoint with voiceover in Camtasia isn't hard.

Some even simply use mindmap software and record in Camtasia. Again, not too hard.

Use Dragon Naturally Speaking, the best voice recognition software. Just plug it in and start talking. You don't have to be an amazing writer. People like to read stuff that sounds natural.

What you could do is make a whole bunch of WSO's from ideas that you got from other WSO's. And then just sell those to make money and pretend like you actually do those things, even though your only income is from WSO's! I'm new here but I see that's the trend.

I use some PLR content for lead magnets - but I want my own product that I'm charging for to be of the highest quality.

Videos all sound good - but normally I use them to gain traffic.
And as far as product creation goes, they seem more of a supplemental item.

Are many IM products video only?
