My recent stats in the Dog niche

Hi,

I have a dog obedience site, primarily promoting the "Sit, Stay, fetch" product. My numbers are horrendous. I get a bunch of emails from people on my list about issues with their pets and asking for tips/pointers.

I have helped ppl on my list out with personal emails and they have been extremely happy and some went on to purchase the product being promoted but, I was not credited for the sale.

I'm a bit tired of promoting this product and seeing the below analytics.

Would love to know if these numbers are all right, or, if my sneaky suspicions are right and if I should be promoting some thing else.

Thank you for your time.
Vijay

Edit: The stats are for 7 days

    Vijay,

    Where's the traffic coming from?

Secondly, the numbers you're showing are not enough information to come to any real conclusions. At least if you want it to be statistically significant. It would help more if I knew where the traffic was coming from. Also if you could PM the URL you are sending the traffic to.

I was in this niche for a long time so I know a thing or two about it.

Agreed, you need to give this more time and set some goals for this campaign. Goals involve a timeframe too.

Thanks Rod for your time. The traffic is coming from articles and serp primarily. I realize the numbers are not anything to draw conclusions from, but wanted some input from experienced marketers in this niche, before I spent any more time promoting this product. I'll PM the URL in a minute.

Thanks for your input Brad. Not all my sales are after putting 1-1 time. I mentioned it, so I know the prospect is hot and interested in finding a solution. Some have even emailed me their receipts :-)

Thanks Coach. Makes a lot of sense.

The DOG niche! Why didn't I think of that?! I'm off to immediately build my new blog. <Hmmm..."dog training" sounds like an interesting new idea.> Oh nooo! I didn't just give away my secret niche via my inner dialogue, did I??

I think you should keep bringing in traffic on a consistent basis. Once you get to 1000 people coming to your link and you are not seeing any sales, then I would be suspecious.

Give it time until you reach 1000 people clicking on your HOP link.

While you may be getting nothing for sales, you are receiving valuable research feedback from your list.

Considering you are capable of answering questions 1 on 1 via email in the niche, you are MORE than capable of creating a product that teaches this same stuff. Do yourself a favor and cut clickbank out of the equation.. or at least give yourself a shot.

Write up a report on the most common questions you receive, set a price, BAM, product.

More questions? Bigger report, more money.

That being said, 7 day.. low traffic stats are going to be hard to really decide on.

I've written copy and built landing pages / sales pages for one of the more well known dog trainers. It's a tough niche to compete in, especially dog training. Giving out 'free' advice to everyone who needs a favor prior to buying will run you into the ground, because they are shopping EVERY dog trainer for free info.

My best advice to you is to split test everything. EVERYTHING. If the product is the same product 5,000 other "dog training sites" are moving, then you need dig deep for the reasons your customers will stay with you.
