How can I setup a redirect that does this?

Can someone please explain to me how I can set this up?

I want to redirect a domain name to my main product website. But I also want to track BOTH sales or opt-ins that may occur from that person who comes through the redirect domain.

So basically it will be like this...

REDIRECT DOMAIN --> MAIN WEBSITE ---> SALE/OPT-IN

Advice on how to set this up easily and track?

    If your main page is index.html, probably the easiest would be to create a second page say index2.html, which is identical to index.html, and then redirect the traffic from that domain to index2.html and track your opt-ins (with hidden field in the form or something of that sort) and the sales. No idea what you are selling, so I have to do a bit of guessing, but if it's an affiliate product, you can use a sub_id if that's an option....

    I thought there was a way, or a code, you can put on the redirect URL page that will add a cookie or something to that visitor automatically, and also still automatically redirect them (a smooth transition), and then if they do an optin or purchase, it will track it.
