Quick question regarding trademark.

Hi
I was wondering what the ramifications are when using a trademark name in a ebook title. The ebook I have is tips regarding using this company with a few screen shots on how to use their website and I was thinking of a title such as "The Unofficial Guide to xxxxx". Also any problems using screen shots?

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

thanks
Scott

Most likely not, unless you become a multimillionaire selling this ebook and everyone on earth and mars knows about it. That being said, it would be good to put in a disclaimer along the lines of "Our Company has no affiliation with xxxx and xxxx does not endorse this product in any way".

It would probably be better for you to contact "xxxxx" directly and ask the same questions; rather than inquiring about it on a forum.

Did I forget that part? Oh, I'm a genius aren't I. Yes, that probably is the best way, unless this company is like Google, or something comparable. If it is, they'll most likely just say no.

Such a defeatist attitude can most definitely prevent you from reaping some pretty good profits.

You never know until you ask. And even IF you get a "no"; there's nothing wrong with asking "why". Knowing "why" might give you the communication skills to mitigate the risk factor(s) that generated the original "no"; turning it into a "ok, let's see how it goes".
