What software is used to do this?

I have a blog -- and posted a blog post -- and it seems somehow a couple people actually were almost 'alerted' (like google news alert) to the blog post -- and had an automatic comment posted that was very on topic (I was able to figure out it was spam just because of the speed, etc of the posting, as well as a couple other checks)...
but was quite surprised. The comments were 'on target' (obviously pre-crafted), and only triggered when the wordpress blog posting was made.
Is there some kind of wordpress comment submission tool that automatically looks for/targets certain keywords/blog posts? If so, do you have links?
