How many Tweets per day?

INTERNET MARKETING

Hello Warriors.

I've been using Twitter for the past month and have built
a follower count of just over 1440.

Now I've been marketing online successfully for over 12 years.

But... Twitter is something new to me that I'm giving a try
to add another income stream.

I'm noticing many people Tweet like crazy!

How many Tweets is good bad in one day?

I'd like to hear from long time tested Twitter users.

Hi Gary,

I hate to make a generalized statement, but let me tell you what has been working for me.

What I have been doing is when I do tweet and want someone to click on my links I do it in bursts of 2 or 3 at a time. For some reason it draws peoples attention to the tweets better that way.

Hi there "cellcom".

Actually I was doing this too. I Tweet a burst of 3 tweets with articles
twice per hour so I'm tweeting 6 times per hour.

Too much?

I don't think that any amount of tweets per day is too much (within reason, of course). My goal is generally to tweet one "sales" tweet out of every five to ten tweets. That seems to work for me and my followers don't feel as if they're being spammed.

You sure could. I'm oldschool...I just use plain 'ole Twitter, and none of the other Tweeting services or plugins.

Thanks for all the input. I've been using Twittollower for about 3 weeks now have over 1440 followers.

So far I've been Tweeting about 6-8 times per hour with the last Tweet being
a sales pitch.

One thing I'm finding is... You really don't know when your followers are on
Twitter and my clicks are very low.

Out of 1440 followers I might 2-3 clicks for my free articles and sales Tweets.

That's why I think Tweeting 8-10 times per hour might be a better idea to keep
you in front of your followers???

There is no right or wrong answer to this question on the number of tweets. As long as your tweets offer something of value to your followers, you should be fine. Just make sure to spread out any promotional tweets properly on your Twitter timeline.

  I tweet once a day in 2 of my niches and maybe once every 2 weeks I will do something slightly "sales orientated"
  
  I prefer to focus on building a community and offer value to my followers

  I do about 5 to 6 tweets per day, I use a plug-in called Twitter Tools and also I make real tweets too by stopping in so its not all just the Tools.
  
  I agree it gets tiresome when people are Tweeting what their eating and sometimes other activities you really shouldn't Tweet..

Thanks for all the feed back... I think I'm going to stick with Tweeting 6 times per hour with the 6th Tweet a soft offer.

I agree completely with Lisa, if you stick to 10% of your Tweets sending people to your website/squeeze/sales page then you should be in good shape no matter how much time you spend there.

I think it is an easier space for me because I can interact with bloggers (who really, really are in it for free wine) and gain some valuable links that way.

I agree with Gary in Tweeting 6 times an hour

Think of how many time you actually look at your Twitter and read the posts. If you follow just a few hundred people you will rarely notice a person tweeting 6 times an hours.

I follow on guy who tweets 6 - 8 messages in a row and fills up the page on Twitter. With in a minute or two he is gone.

There are so many other tweets that one of Gary's tweets will be gone off the first page on Twitter with in a minute or so.

Now imagine following a thousand people. Gary's tweet will be on your page a few seconds.

More tweets gives you more opportunity to catch that one person looking at twitter in the few seconds your post it there.

It's a numbers game.

  When I tweet, and it's intermittent, I'll usually do three to six in fairly short order.
  
  The first two to five will be general, humorous or motivational and the last will include a link.
  
  On the down side, frequently when employing this strategy, I "break" twitter. This morning is no exception.

  For myself 6 times is really a maximum that way its not perceived as spammy, But the big question isn't how many times you Tweet per day. But HOW you Tweet.
  
  I try to use short headlines that make the reader want to click your tweet to read more on your website. But I can make it the most interesting Tweet ever but how will people see it. The solution is #Hash tags, do some research first and find out what #Hash tags are available in your niche. This will announce your Twitter to all those that have that #hash-tags in their lists.
  
  Also I'd find all the #hashtags available first then start using them because you can alter them with a comma to get your tweets into a whole new followers list.
  
  Plus use a URL shortener (like bit.ly) too as longer URLs will limit your 140 character allotment.
