I never thought I would have problems with Gmail!

I just tried logging in to my gmail account and it said that they noticed 'unusual activity' on my account and asked me to verify it.

I gave them a cell # to send a verification code, but the call never came.

I knew my blogs could be disabled, (and they are) and I CYA'd that issue, but my email? For 'unusual activity'?

I sent in the support ticket to say I'd never got the phone call with the verification code. Anyone know how long it takes them to respond to that?

    Unusual Activity? No kidding?

    They must've been spying on you Dani and checking out your emails.

    On a serious note, I've never heard of such a thing, only had issues when I tried logging in with multiple computers and stuff but that is usual stuff. As far as I know most of your blogs are blogger blogs so thats gonna be a nightmare too.

    Hope you get the issue resolved soon dear, lets wait for the support ticket reply.

    Sorry can't be of much help, but I'll light a candle for your gmail account in my cave.

      Thanks Maddi,
      my blogger blogs are a non-issue. I keep them all backed up, and use cpanel redirects for all my backlinks to them, so they'll be all good. It's just my gmail. I'll Skype ya later.

    Did you get the message while attempting to log in?

    You didn't get an email that you followed a link to did you? (that would be bad)

    It could be as simple as them noticing that lots and lots of failed login attempts were being targeted at your account so they locked it to prevent a hacker from gaining access. (think back to the news a few months back when hackers from overseas got into several accounts - it nearly kept Google from being in a certain country for search).
