Ok, so here's my deal, this is my first post, although i've been coming here and reading as much as i can as often as i can, so if i'm in the wrong spot, saying the wrong thing i apologize and just let me know. I lost my job 6 months ago and then had a pretty serious injury that put me in a cast for 4 months, i figured this was a good time to be a stay at home dad and try to get some kind of internet business going. I new absolutely nothing(and still don't) after a little research i decided to start an amazon affiliate store, set it up, tried link exchange, yahoo answers, forums, emails and lately i've been using list joe, viral url and these kind of sites, i did a facebook group, everything i could find for free as my family's income was knocked down to about $32,000 for the 4 of us, since i couldn't work, we are really struggling, the problem is i've been putting sooo much time into all of this and my results haven't paid much more than my hosting fees! 10-20 bucks extra a month, i'm thinking about tanking that idea and trying to market some kind of cpl or cpa program, and i'm looking for any advice on whether my site is a waste of time and where and how i can approach the cpl/cpa stuff. things are getting getting VERY tight around my household all our savings is gone etc. and i need to start making money quick, like yesterday so ANY help will truly be appreciated, i stuck at home for 3 more months so i have the time to put in. please be as descriptive as you can with your advice, there's a lot of terminology thrown around here that i don't always follow.
thanks

    Hi Pvl,

there's a ton of info here at WF, I perhpas would try article marketing and/or blogging - and you can incorporate the CPA as well. I have a simple blueprint in my sig - if you want, just check it out. You absolutely need to build your own list.

Hi, I see the issue on your side. As i can see that you have to pay for the hosting fees. Actually you don't need to have a website to start making money. Let me ask you this: can you write or willing to write? There is a method that i found might be useful for you. If you can write short articles and publish it, you will get paid. The more articles you write the more money you can make doing it. You can get paid by Google for doing that. This method is absolutely free to use.

If you like, you can check out my website below and have a look for yourself. There are total of 6 very easy steps to follow. All the steps are made simple with summarized steps. You can earn residual income doing that. This method will definitely help you in the long-term. The more effort you put in, the greater the reward. I hope this will help you.

    Regard,

There are all kinds of ways to skin a cat - (hate phrase, I love my cat) so, really, in the end it comes down to which kind of marketing you feel 'fits' you. I think you have to try nearly everything at the beginning - but at least be observant enough to stop yourself from jumping from one thing to the next without first giving each task a concentrated effort. I know: easier said than done. Me, I try to pick a couple of 'systems', usually variants on affiliate marketing, while maintaining a consistent marketing drive for my primary business, which is a high ticket item. Check out my free training anyway. Sometimes that kind of thing can really give you some direction. It did for me. Best o of luck to you and anyone reading this.

If you are a US Citizen then you could also sign up for Associatedcontent.com, they pay you up front for articles.

Another approach would be to create your own information product in PDF format. You can do this for free online using Google Docs or by using Open office. You could then sell the product from your free blogger blog using Paypal.

I created a blogger squeeze page for this purpose and have considerable success with it. As you are struggling financially, I'll give you a free copy of this template. Just PM me if you are interested.

I understand partially, I too lost my job after 20 years in February 2010. However I was not in any accidents, so I am much luckier in that respect. I also was able to find another job after about two months. But in that two months I worked extremely hard at IM and floundered. I did fine a coach that understood my financial situation and still agreed to help me, it was worth it. As you can see there is a great deal of help available from the responses. I suggest you contact of them directly or me, I am sure someone will get you the answer you need.

My coach suggested to me this Forum for learning and discussion. But also Youtube and other sites that are free or inexpensive with a lot of traffic. I don't do youtube, my wife is much better looking.

My site has other stuff on it. But you can communicate with me directly for nothing.

      Hey dude,

First of all, let me tell you that I know exactly the position you are in...I was there just a few months ago myself!

No income, trying to make the affiliate stuff work, up against a tight wall, a wife, kids. I feel for you.

Which is why I'm going to give you the best advice that no one else here is going to tell you!

If you need money in a pinch DO NOT try to make it with CPA or affiliate marketing -- The only ways to make income using free methods are long term strategies that take tons of time.

You don't really have that luxury right now.

So you should look at one of these two options:

      1) Hire yourself out - Do you have any special skills or can you at least perform functions well that most established people would be willing to pay for?

This is your best option. Put yourself up for hire in this forum. Also join Elance & Guru and put yourself up there too - actively bid on projects that you can complete successfully.

      2) Create your own product - what did you do for a living before you got laid off & hurt? I used to be an insurance agent. I left that back in December of 2009 to pursue internet marketing thinking it would be so damn easy.

However I went through months of trying to get affiliate & CPA stuff working right with lots of ups and downs. Then in June I decided to look at using my acquired knowledge to develop a product for insurance agents.

Fast forward to a week ago and I launched my first product with the help of just 5 JV partners that I recruited. The last 2 days alone have produced $5000 in sales. I never made that kind of money promoting someone else's product...

Before you go thinking that creating a product is too hard for you - there are ways to short cut it. And if you honestly & objectively compare that to what you need to do in order to promote an affiliate product, you do just about the same amount of work.

I would also challenge you to think about your internet marketing as a business no matter whether you choose to do affiliate marketing or the product creation route.

Here are the steps you need to go through to build a successful IM business.

      1) Pick a market that you want to enter. I would suggest that you do something that you know a bit about or are at least interested in.

      2) Segment the market to find your best point of entry. Let's assume that the market you want to enter is Guitar Lessons. You won't be able to compete in that broad market. However if you think carefully about it, you can find many sub categories of that market you can compete in.

For example: Guitar lessons for teenage girls, Heavy metal guitar lessons, etc. Come up with at least 5 of these sub categories.

      3) RESEARCH. Find which one of these subcategories is least served in the marketplace. Which one has good traffic but little competition? Start there.

One thing the "guru's" will tell you is that you need to find a micro niche. However they mislead you by saying you should stay away from the BIG established markets. That's the biggest lie in the world! Money is made in the BIG markets by micro niching that larger market.

Now you need to research your competition. What is their sales process? Are they list building? Do they use text or video? What power words & phrases are they using to elicit emotion & get action? What benefits are they highlighting? What traffic sources are they using?

This is called "reverse engineering" and is now your best friend...

Take note of everything that works.

      4) Decide your goals for your website. Do you want to build a list? Do you want to just make sales? I would recommend that you go the list building route if you want long term success.

      5) Create a free offer of high value and relevance to your chosen niche subcategory.

      6) Design your websites as a hybrid of what you learned is working from your competition. Make everything your own so you aren't plagiarizing!

      7) Put the same traffic systems into place that your competitors are using. Do your advertising BETTER.

When you follow this pattern you can't lose.

If you want FREE personal help to get things going, give me a PM. I've had many people help me along the way and I'd be happy to do the same for you.

It sad when you have a plight then you started to do thing that you think can create opportunities with minimum risk and higher earning but in reality everyting need effort and the correct knowledge to do. There is no short cut way causi in IM the most important thing that can earn money is either you sell your product to earn, other people product to earn, join monetizing program to earn or use your skill or potential to earn. So whatever it takes is to make other people pay you. The only good thing is luckily we have this wonderful forum to share our tips and secret but that doesn't mean your problem can be solve. The best way to lessen your burden is to think the MSI way of getting dough to you. I mean the multi source of income can be IM, selling your lees wanted thing to ebay or create a garage sales, do translation work, asking for self help groups to assist you or even check out for any government grant for people like you. I mean seek for a guaranteed sum of money that can sustain your family. Most importantly don't rely on one source of income. Just sharing.

when I was started I just used simple method, short action plan that I can make sure to follow every day.

    1. Find product at clickbank
    2. Write short 400 articles
    3. Submit on Gleez.com

I probably just submitted 30 articles, and the articles still give me commission even until years later

Marketing anything on the internet is harder when you are under the gun, and don't have the basic knowledge or skills it takes to create a site, or content that makes money.

It may seem like you can just jump online and do anything, but that's not true. Like others said above, it takes some strategic planning to find a profitable niche, select a good product, then market to that niche. This does take some time to master.

Since you need money quickly, I also think you should look into your current skills that you have and see if there is anything you can offer right now, based on what you already know.

This is a good time to put your head down and FOCUS, FOCUS FOCUS on promoting one thing that won't require too much of a learning curve. Also, don't overlook things you can do in your local community to earn extra cash.

    Good luck.

Ignore any and all PMs right now. WF is one of the best forums I've joined even though I don't always agree with some of the things that go on.

I'm pretty sure by now you may have a few people hitting you up in PMs telling you to try this program from their link, which they'll make a sale off of. Just delete it and move on. You won't be able to respond to them anyways.

Not saying you may not get some good info from a PM, but usually it's just someone trying to get a quick sale.
