I think he is trying to say, the best method of marketing that works. The online and offline marketing are two different things entirely. However, it depends on the kind of product you want to sell. Besides, these days companies have website which represent online and still run other ads like banners, classified ads and so on. There goes to say, you should leave any out. They are equally important for this age and time.

When you truly understand MARKETING you realize there's no distinction because from the strategic view - marketing is marketing is marketing. It's the things that you do to make selling possible and easier.

In my experience, certain offline methods (direct mail for example) tend
to stay effective for longer periods of time and are less prone to rapid
change and saturation in comparison to many online methods.

At the end of the day, to echo michael hiles above, "marketing is marketing"
and it's in your best interest to master several methods - both online & offline.

        To your success,
        Matt

I wouldn't dare say that online marketing sucks in comparison
      to online marketing...

      it's just better.

      I'm kidding.

Frank Kern, John Reese are examples of people who got online
marketing to work for them. That is their stroke.

Dan Kennedy and other offline greats do better offline. That's
      their stroke.

I would say, just from an objective perspective, that I hate the
very nasty and rapid changes that is ONLINE marketing. It's as
      violent as a tidal wave.

Ever wonder why people on here and elsewhere are constantly
looking for the "next best method or traffic method?"

It's because it's incredibly challenging to learn ONE, and make
money for any long period of time before other's "f**k it up for
      them or others.

Online, your told to keep everything to yourself because it is
prone to "saturation". Rather this is real or perceived is up to
      the individual.

Nonetheless, I was shocked when people were surprised my
WSO was about **GASP** Something that has already been
      DONE before!! EGADS.

Since WHEN has something that has been proven to work for
long periods of time been a BAD thing? But, that's the mindset
      people have as IM'ers (generally).

      I LOVE consistency.

That's what OFFLINE marketing brings. It's CONSTANT. It moves
VERY slowly, and when you LEARN how to do it you can pretty
much rest assured it's going to be valid for at LEAST half a
      century (direct mail).

Could you say the same about ANY of the online marketing
      methods?

      No.

At best, it's golden years are in it's first couple of weeks...a
few months if your lucky, and a few years if your BLESSED
      (PPC, EBAY).

Don't get me wrong, I LOVE the internet. I just HATE the
marketing. The internet is what opened my eyes to a world
where it's slow enough for me to get it, implement, make
millions, and exit whenever I want to without fear of being
      obsolete.

If you like speed, online marketing is for you. If you like
having a predictable business model -- offline marketing is
      for you.

I have this forum to thank (Matt included ) for introducing
me to offline marketing. It was the greatest financial blessing
      to ever grace my life.

On line Marketing & Off Line Marketing question is the same question when you ask whether you sell product by knocking people door is better or by using telemarketing. In reality you have to do both because both of them can have result & sales. The only probelm is How effective is your method. Methodology in doing the marketing is the most important aspect to do your marketing. Such as you must know what kind of product suit the correct way of marketing e.g. You cannot sell e-book by knocking people door right?ha..ha! Best techniques only can be acquired by experimenting or guidance from more experience person. This Forum is the way to learn the tricks & tips that's why I say it is about methodology rather than comparison.
