Opinions on Adswaps - Protecting Your Brand

Hi,

I have a diet called The Lunch Box Diet which has had quite a lot of coverage in the UK and US (looking at expanding this now).

I have a 5K list and the oppourtunity to do aswaps and I wanted to get the warriors opinions on who i should be doing aswaps with and who to avoid.

I guess I have a bit of a block about promoting other diet products, but do the pros outweigh the cons?

The question is, what would you do if you were me to get more sales. At the moment im pulling my hair out becuase even though i have good conversions, I just cant pull in the visitors. i've been blogging, but my site visitors just wont increase. I really need to do something to bring in more sales.

Any opinions would be greatly apprechiated.

Regards

Simon

You say you have a bit of a block when promoting other diet products, which I think is a good thing.

When donig adswaps that may become a hindrance, of course you can chose what you want to send to your list, but sometimes it can be a problem saying no to potential JV partners if you think their product isn't good enough, or won't go well with your list.

In my opinion, you may want to look into doing Solo Ads, which is very similar to doing adswaps, only difference is, you don't reciprocate the mailing and instead, pay for your email to be sent to ones mailing list.

This may be a way around if you don't want to promote other diet products to your list, as it does serve the purpose of increasing your subscriber count.

There may be other methods you want to look into when building your list besides adswaps too.

    Hope it helps

Most IM ad swappers want related products so you might have a hard time finding folks with IM list willing to do ad swaps with you since your product is in the weight loss niche vs. IM.

With all the UK publicity you have, you should look at hiring a US PR firm to get you more exposure here. There is an ad at the top of the forum for Ron Douglas publicity course. You should check that out. Following his blueprint might work for you very well since you're already established and you've received a lot of media attention in the UK.

That might be a better way of spending you time and resources vs. ad swaps (just my opinion of course).
