WordPress Blog vs. Traditional Web site question?

I am back in the forum after over a year. I have a question about the seemed popularity of blogs as websites. I was researching some new product releases from JV notify and when I went to Google search, all the top sites on pg one & two seem to be WordPress Blog Pages not regular web pages? Is there some reason for this besides just good SEO? Are the pages just easier to put together or is there something else I don't see. What are your feelings - I am going to be changing hosts soon & am researching...
Appreciate the input!

    The flexibility, ease of use, huge amount of plugins available and loads of other stuff just make Wordpress such an easy and awesome way to build a site. I wouldn't do it any other way now
