ATTN: Site Flipping Foolz - logistics question?

For those of you who have the down low on how to best facilitate site flipping - may I ask a few questions for a concept I have?

1. Assume Wordpress Blog as the sites

2. I will own the domains [ .info/.com/.net's ]

3. Building specialty niche wordpress blogs on my host with my domain - to flip to a specialty group of buyers. Perhaps multiple blogs 1-10 blogs to one buyer ...

Questions.

1. How would I get the blog content and plugins onto the buyers HOST?

2. How long does it take for the registrar and/or my host to transfer the domain to the new buyer?

3. Is there a preferred registrar to use for this?

4. Is there any tools or software to help facilitate this type of business model?

    1. How would I get the blog content and plugins onto the buyers HOST?
You'd have to download the database + other files and reinstall it on their hosting. If you don't know what to do, hire someone.

    2. How long does it take for the registrar and/or my host to transfer the domain to the new buyer?
Instantly, you tell the buyer they have to sign up with the same domain register then the transfer will be instant and free. It may take up to 2 weeks to transfer from your register to theirs and cost like $10 if you do it that way.

    3. Is there a preferred registrar to use for this?
not really I feel they all work pretty much the same.

    4. Is there any tools or software to help facilitate this type of business model?
    I don't think so.

This is pretty much the only manual work you have to do when flipping websites. Good luck.

When you push a domain to a user, the user needs to have an account at the same registrar and then the "push" is immediate. To transfer the whole site, I have a free ebook at domainingdiva.com/transfer.pdf that tells you how to do it.

Namecheap is my favorite registrar but I use Godaddy as well.

As for tools ... I don't use any. I build the sites, flip them transfer them. Maybe some others have some nifty tools to share, but I build my sites one at a time and my preferred type of site to sell are established sites with some traffic and revenue ... with the exception of the niche blogs I sell as very cheap startup blogs for newbies << that's not really flipping.

  • Moniker works well as a registrar for your idea.
