Where's the most 'juicy' place on a website

Hi all,

I was just wondering if someone could advise.

A friend has offered to put a link to my website, from her site.

She isn't really bothered about SEO and link juice and all that... so she doesn't care where the link goes.

I do care, however... as I know that there are some places that are more 'vlauable' than others for link juice.

Where do I get her to put the link so thatI get maximum benefit.

She doesn't have a link page, nor a blog roll... so would from a post be the best place for link juice?

Thanks.

where ever she does place the link for you on her site you want to make sure there are no other links on there that are dofollow so you get the maximum link juice.

If it is a blog the best thing to do is have her make you a post or page around your keyword you are trying to rank for. Make sure your keyword is in the title of the post/page first sentence, middle of the post/page and last sentence.

You then want to link the first keyword on the post/page back to your site and make sure there are some LSI aka other relevant keywords on the post/page too.

This is if she will go this route, this will give you the maximum link juice.

    hope this helps
    -Chris

The link at the top of the write up should carry higher weight as compared to the links at the last paragraph of the article.

With that positioning the likelihood of people actually clicking your link and landing on your page is much higher.

Make sure it is an anchor text link made up of Keywords

Go with Google heat maps top left of the page.

i wouldn't over think it too much. if you can get it on the homepage that will be best. the deeper in to the site, the less weight the link will carry. therefore, if you cannot get it on the home page try to get it as high up in the hierarchy as possible.

we do not know exactly how google crawls pages, but we can speculate. the idea is that googlebot is going to try to view links for what they are. links in the naviation bar should link to inner pages for naviation purposes, footer links to conacts/terms/resources, and links in the main body area to internal or external resources realted to the content. For example, it is plausable that less weight will be given to the "powered by wordpress" link than a link in the main body section that is citing a resource

if she has a blogroll or external links type area in one of her side bars get it there, because that will show up on every page that has the nav bar. second choice would be in the main content/body area of the home page, preferrably in anchor text. the last choice would be on the main body/content part of another page as close to the top level as possible.

but forget all that for a second... I would want to put the link the place that is most likely to get it clicked. that is where it would be most beneficial to you, because that is what you really want right? Traffic. in theory, that is what the search engine wants too, sites to be built with the visitor in mind.

we are only talking about 1 link here, so dont worry too much about its placement. you are going to need much more than 1 link for SEO anyway, don't sweat it too much. get it on the homepage if you can but beyond that just get it where it can get clicked.
