Something I Wanted To Share

Someone I follow tweeted this and I thought some of you may appreciate the idea behind it:

How to Invoice Like Picasso

Don't underestimate everything you have learned, even if the people you are helping whether it be a business or whatever, don't understand.

    Thanks alot, Steve!

I guess another take home lesson from this is to not underprice yourself/your products/your services, especially when you know you are worth it: a culmination of years of experience (some) that you can bring to the table to help realize your customers the best possible results.

Reminds me of the time I was teaching self defence to a group of teachers.

They were just getting to grips with the moves, having never done anything like it before.

When I practically demonstrated, one of them remarked, "Look at him, he's such a natural, isn't he?"

To which I replied, "Yep, but it took me 20 years to become a natural."

People usually see just the surface. If it takes 5 minutes to do something, they assume it's not valuable.

However, they forget that, without all the years of practice, that same task might take a full day.

That reminds me of the tagline of a product being hawked on TV some years ago. I don't remember the product, but the line has stayed with me: "Expensive, and darned well worth it."

I just think it totally sums up the fact, absolute value can only come if you have self worth.

Somethings can be thought about and absorbed, this is something to be pondered.

    Let's all try this...

Go look in the mirror and ask yourself what you would pay for an hour of your time.

Then ask yourself what you would pay to have the last hour you spent, doing nothing, back.

Now do something for an hour that will make you money, and ask yourself how much
that hours work should make you.

    The responses should be interesting.

I am continually surprised at how much I know! Seriously, (but humbly), I am now 66 years old and on my second career. That career is basically just helping people by answering questions that generally seem simple to me. I must admit though, I'm sometimes frustrated by the statement, "Man, you are really lucky to know all this stuff!"

I don't think luck would come into it!
