Who's Got Experience With Podcasting?

Hi Warriors,

I'm looking for any recommendations from people that have done some successful podcasting in the past. I want to start doing some interview for my website.

I'm looking for recording software that you've used that is really easy for a nube to get started with. I also would like something that can be used to post on my Wordpress blog easy and fast.

Thanks in advance.

Lynn Terry had a good article on her blog about podcasting recently.

You can find it at How To Create A Podcast – Simple Checklist

I don't have any experience with podcasting but I think it's really interesting. It's less expensive yet effective for in internet marketing. It can be easily distributed too.

Can someone share provide some tips/advice on what not to do or include in a podcast?

  • Check out a software product called 'GoldWave'. Quite good, and easy to use.

      Hey Brett,

I used to have my own radio show on a London radio station and produced a podcast from that. I'm also close to launching my own IM podcast on my blog.

I used a Wordpress blog for the show, with the Podpress plugin enabled. It's very good for sharing your podcast on your site and on iTunes too.

Hope that helps. PM me if you need any help using these.

@MathewDuggan - Thanks for the tip about Podpress.

Let me know when you've got the podcast on your website up. I'd like to listen.

Has anyone had experience combining using Software called Audacity: Audacity: Free Audio Editor and Recorder

It's free and I've heard good things from a couple people.

I've run two moderately successful podcasts and the main thing to remember is that just like you should be doing with your content and marketing materials, make your podcast stand out from the crowd and make sure it leaves people wanting to come back and hear your next broadcast. Just reading rehashed articles is not going to cut it.

You can use Skype for remote interviews via Pamela on the PC or Audio Hijack Pro on the Mac.

I've got a wso going right now that addresses the wordpress usage. It's a plugin that turns any post/page into a podcast with an MP3 embedded on any page or post and displays an audio player.
