Article Marketing - How Aggresive to Be?

Hi Warriors!

I have started a few niche sites, trying to build them up slowly. The oldest is probably only a month old. I have started some article marketing but was wondering about the speed of submitting articles.

These sites will be mainly adsense sites and b/c of the niches, I don't expect to get a lot of traffic from the articles themselves but am looking to AM more for backlinks. However, I don't want to build backlinks too quickly and have it look unnatural to Google.

So my question for everyone is how aggressive should one be with AM in the beginning stages of a new site?

    Hey Mate,

From what I've seen, the speed of your link growth isn't as big a factor as it used to be. Google's had to make some changes thanks to the social networks where a site can get thousands of incoming links in a day and that can be an indication of QUALITY content, not spam.

What I've found more influential in upsetting Google is building lots of links from the same anchor text. You can submit as many articles per day as you can handle as long as you're not making them all have the same anchor text and going to the same page in your author bio.

So as for aggressiveness - pick a level of submission that you can handle - 1 a day, 3 a day, 5 a day, whatever - just mix up the anchor text by linking to your page(s) not only for the term you're wanting to rank for but also for terms that are LSI relevant (the topic of another discussion but think about words that are by common sense, closely related to your keyword) and you should see great results in your rankings in time.

    Hope that's helpful.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

    Hi Andrew Hansen,

Thanks for the great tips! I know you are running a service for free unique article content and I love it!

    I have few suggestion:

If you can provide more categories and sub categories, such as filter by keywords, I think your service can help even more Adsense / or affiliates' blogs to gain targeted traffic.

I know the anchor text should be mixing, preferably with LSI theme keywords. I am still testing Unique Article Wizard to see if they can deliver a lot of back links and traffic with only few articles!

Well, that depends on what it is you want to achieve and how quickly you want to achieve it. I say be as aggressive as you're comfortable with and are able to be.

      Hi Andrew,

I have heard that advice before but it hasn't stuck - thanks!

There are always so many tips to remember, it gets difficult. The anchor text linking makes sense, I'll need to work on that.

I assume you could also achieve some variety by linking to different pages in your site using that page's keyword for the anchor text also. That would get you some deeper links and switch up the anchor text.

I actually have an article in the que at Ezine, I think I'll change the anchor text right now!

Post those articles as quickly as you can. The sooner you get started, the sooner you'll start to see the results of your work.

I think you may be surprised at the amount of traffic those articles will generate for you. If the article is written well enough, it will generate visitors to your site.

    Good luck.

In 2006, I used to submit 1 or 2 per week, and I had very impressive results.

Today, one or two per day is not enough.

Submit at least 5 per day to ezinearticles and you will get results. Make sure to have a strategy in place.

Do not think that you will not get a lot of traffic from your articles. If you choose the right keywords and submit a lot of articles, you will get a lot of traffic.

Article marketing traffic generally convert very well, but you need to have a strong funnel in place. I mean that everything should be tested and tracked from the time someone reads your article to a sale.

Tim Gorman makes 5 figures online from adsense and article marketing. He has more than 1500 articles out there, and as he said, his site are nowhere to be found on the search engines.

As for getting top rankings, don't forget to link to every single page of your mini site. Many article marketers make the mistake of just linking to the homepage.

    All the best,
    Franck
