Hi fellow warriors......I have been told over and over that amazon autoblogs make money.......well I have a site, I have spent alot of money on SEO links, blog comments,, several Traffic packages from here on the warrior forum,on page seo etc. etc. etc I fought to get it on the first page of google, well I finally succeeded and currently hold the 2nd spot on google for my main key word and have been in spot 1-3 for over a month now. I picked a niche that was supposed to be a "money" niche according to another software purchased here on the forum....and it receives over 2,000 EXACT local matches per DAY!! Yes per DAY! And even more globally, and yes I said EXACT MATCH ! Yet ......NO MONEY......what the heck!!! Please anyone help me if u can!!! I cant believe it!!! :-)
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated! Thanks, God Bless!

My main keyword is kate spade handbag
my site is www.KateSpadeHandbag.net

Your site needs work. You did a great job at getting premium position in the SERPs, the traffic is there but they are getting to your site and pretty much saying "Im not buying from this website". You really need to revamp the whole thing, use a better theme or layout. Consider breaking out different posts for different bags to begin with. Spend more time with the design and you should see some conversions.

maybe because people don't like that kind of item? You actually forced people to buy those bags....not a good idea. I presume that you are making some money from google?

First thing I would do is change your wordpress theme - the one you have is awful, sorry. Second thing I would do is read up on adsense optimisation. At least blend your ads so they dont stand out as ads like a sore thumb. Use the adsense rectangle format at the top of your content, blended in to the background. Like the clickbump guy has done with the .org.

I also think you are putting your adsense account at risk with the "top pick" and "todays special" headings above your ads. They could be regarded as incentives to click by an over zealous Google employee.

You have underlined text that appears as a link, but doesn't. Either make it a link or remove the underline.

The clickbank product is, imho not well optimised for sales, and the link doesn't look like a link - yet you have words that look like links but arent. Consider replacing with a list collector and email subscribers with handbag related products.

You have an events Calendar with nothing on it and of zero interest to your visitors. Get rid.

With an exact keyword domain and not much competition, No 3 (on my Google results) is not that hard to achieve - aim for a consistent No 1.

      Hi Shermanf,

      A few things...

      1. That's not an autoblog. Its an advertisement for amazon.

An autoblog uses software that automatically generates content for you. (see Welcome to The Backyard BBQ Pit: The Backyard BBQ Pit for an example). I used wp-robot on that one and it's been wonderful.

      2. There's no content

Content is king on the web. Remember that! Content means posting articles (for blogs anyway) and you have very little.

      3. Your theme is awkward

This is just my personal opinion but your theme should represent your content. Check out some of the nicer blogs for sale here in the warrior forum and you'll see they at minimum use a header to match the theme.

      4. Your theme is hard to read

Gray text on gray bg is not recommended. Look for something white on black. It's much easier to read.

      Ok now for the praise....

      Congratulations on:

      1. Taking Action

Your now 1 step ahead of most people

      2. Putting in all that hard work

keep going and make it pay

      3. Asking questions

Keep asking... You've already come a long way - further then most ever will. Don't stop asking questions and (I suggest) copy and paste your questions and answers into a file.

One day you'll look back on them and say "Wow! Did I really ask that?"

      4. Learning What You Now Know

Although it may not seem like much, you now know:

      a) how to set up a blog
      b) how to outsource projects
      c) how to get high ranking in the SE's
      d) how to use the warrior forum to get what you need
      e) how to choose a niche (it may not be a great one you chose but it has potential)

And probably a lot more I haven't mentioned.

My hat is off to you!!!

Right Now. What a wonderful time to start!

This is not an Amazon autoblog. What you have here is a minisite.

An autoblog doesn't just sit there making money automatically. It frequently and continually posts fresh, relevant content obtained from RSS feeds and other sources.

You have three articles, and all three of them are clearly just filler shoved around the same Amazon widget. The articles aren't even very good. Where to buy? Getting a good deal? What makes them special?

Look, if I'm searching for a Kate Spade handbag, I don't need you to sell me on why they're special. I already know. I'm searching for Kate Spade. Where to buy? DUH - right here! Getting the best deal? DUH - right here! Nobody cares about these things. Your visitors don't need what you have.

    That's rather an understatement.

The red header isn't appropriate for a designer handbag site. To most people, red means "stop" or "danger" - and you've got it on a site for designer products, where people are already wary of getting a knockoff. Red on black is a bad combination for most sales sites, unless you're selling vampire paraphernalia.

The Amazon widget on your front page doesn't fit in the posting area of your theme. It also doesn't really have "next" and "previous" buttons on it. They're spin buttons. You hold them down to spin the selection. This is not obvious at first, and is really pretty bad design. Some people are probably clicking the button, seeing that the current selection doesn't change, and thinking your widget is broken.

Your "Celebrity Fashion" link has nothing on it, and it's the first link people are going to check. Doesn't make you look so good when the first thing interested prospects check is something you haven't done. Put up some content or dump the link.

Even if they're forgiving of that, they'll click over to the next link - "Buy Now" - and they'll see a plain old Amazon widget with no other content. You aren't offering them anything they couldn't already get at Amazon. No special deal. No bonus. Nothing. And the widget on this page looks terrible and boring, too.

"Where to Buy" and "Getting a Good Deal" display the exact same widget as the home page, and "What Makes Them Special" is the home page.

So out of six links, two of them suck and one of them is a duplicate. Half your site is crap.

The three articles you have are displaying text which is MUCH too small, and putting it on a dirty grey background. Bump up the text size, and put it on white.

In addition, you've got AdSense on your page, but you're only displaying a single ad per unit. If you click through the pages a few times, you'll see that there aren't all that many ads popping up, either. You could, of course, scroll through the ads... but most people just aren't that interested.

You want to get your visitor engaged? Here you go. Try these three articles.

    1. How to choose the right handbag for you. Link these recommendations DIRECTLY to specific products on Amazon. Identify what makes this exact Kate Spade handbag good for this or that lifestyle, and stick a link to that exact handbag next to it.

    2. Useful things you ought to have in your handbag, but that most people don't. This one can just have a generic Amazon searchy widget.

    3. The history of Kate Spade and her handbag collection. Who is Kate Spade? Why is she making handbags? Don't tell me why her handbags are cool - I know that. Tell me why Kate Spade herself is cool.

You know that "celebrity fashion" thing? Go find pictures of celebrities carrying Kate Spade handbags. Identify the celebrity and the handbag. Link directly to Amazon.

Trade in your generic widget on "Buy Now" for direct links just like you used in article 1 and on the celebrity fashion site. Put them in alphabetical order and use pictures, so when someone comes back and can't find that one picture of the one girl with that awesome handbag, they can just scroll down the page and find it.

Minisites make money, too. There's nothing wrong with a minisite. Just put yourself in the customer's shoes and give them what they want.

Change the theme first off, or at least modify the one you have so that there are less (or no) exit portals, increase the font size, use much more segmented formatting, and maybe go for larger, quality pics rather than sheer numbers.

There's just too much going on on that page. Simplify it if you can and you'll probably see better results.

The first thing i would do is fix your adsense ads. I have found that the vertical banner adsense ads convert to clicks the best. Also you are losing out with just 3 one link ads from adsense alone. You are only allowed 3 ads but not 3 one link ads. If you would make those bigger say 250x250 you will also beable to show image ads which do pay better with adsense.

Second thing I would do is maybe redesign the main header to show some of the hand bags. This would give it a much better feel. Which would incline more people to click on the products you have.

Last thing I think I would do is grab a particular design and write a review on your site about it. Then repeat with other designs. This will help you increase your traffic and content. Which inturn would help to increase your sales.

I wish you the best of luck with your site.

    Hi,

There is a lot of good advice in this thread . Here are a few more suggestions:

1.The design is pretty bad. It needs some tweaking and consider changing the colour scheme to a more natural look, especially for this market. Use this chart for some inspiration. How do colors affect purchases? It shows you how colours affect purchases. It was posted by another warrior member today.

2.Your adsense ads need tweaking. They need to be blended better and strategically placed in the path of your visitors.

    3.I would remove the calendar.

4.The content is bad. There is no content really. You are not engaging with your visitor. You are not communicating with them on an emotional level.

5.When I do click on a product pic I get a "pop up" alert message appear on my screen. This could scare some people away.

6.There is no way to see a bigger image of one of the bags with more details without leaving your site. Straight way it tells me that if I click this I am going to “buy it”. This could also scare some people away.

7.I see Error 404 messages when I click a link.

8.I can’t see an easy way to contact you.

9.There is no email capture form so you can start building a list.

Those are just a few suggestions which I think could help.

Well done for doing something. Now just go and improve it and start making money!

    Thanks

    Rich
