Who Makes More Money...

Question:

Who makes more money...

1. An original content producer who markets their product through affiliates...

2. Or someone who buys PLR product, cleans and/or modifies the content and market it as their own and offers an affiliate program...

3. Or someone who buys MRR product and simply resells it while also offering an affiliate program to build their sales channel?

My thoughts...

1. An original content producer spends more money in producing their own original content but have 100% control over the quality of the content. This means that right from the start they can determine the value of their content and offer the best quality. They also have the branding advantage since it is purely their own content.

...however...

2. Someone who buys a PLR product may not have spent the same amount of money producing the content, but since they are able to modify the content and brand it as their own they may be able to achieve something very close to an original content producer.

3. Someone who buys MRR doesn't spend close to as much time and effort as the other two options above in terms of producing the content but the turnaround time to profits (provided the product is decent) is much faster.

* * * * *

But at the end of the day, which of these three will generate the most amount of money and profit?

Could someone who simply goes the MRR route earn more money than PLR and original content producers?

Or do all three have an equal chance of making more money than the other since the main factor to determine how much money one makes is based on the appeal of the product itself?

Would love to get your insight.

From my limited understanding ..... there are alot of other factors to consider like the sales copy the size of the list that the person has and other factors.

But I guess all things being equal I would go with own content

Thanks, Cathy, and sorry because I completely overlooked those important elements as part of my original question.

Let's presume then, for argument's sake, that everything else is equal. Same list size, same experience level of each of the three marketers, same capabilities as far as writing sales copy and executing a marketing campaign are concerned -- and that the only difference is that one is using own content, and the other two are using PLR and MRR respectively.

The person with the most compelling offer will stand the best chance of making more money given the same sales funnel.

The product is secondary to the offer.

No customers get to experience the product until AFTER they have bought into the offer.

That's easy to answer....the best marketer. The one who knows his target market and put his product in front of them. As long as the buyer hasn't seen the material before, as far as he's concerned it's fresh, unique content. And if it solves his problem, he'll buy it.

You can't qualify it after the fact and you'll never have three people who do things exactly alike.

            Hi Tina,

Yes, the best marketer wins. It is an easy answer. I should have seen it from the beginning, but it is true no matter what the product is.

So if three marketers are selling the exact same product (let's assume it's either an affiliate offering or an MRR product), just how much more does one of them have to do in order to be better than the other two?

I've seen prepackaged MRR products and some marketers just use the out-of-the-box material, plug in their name and photo, plug in their shopping cart button and that's about it. (I know because I've been guilty of this myself... and I still see similar products being marketed this way and I'm sure you all have seen it to some degree.)

JP, in this situation, it boils down to two factors - traffic and conversion.

Actually, you could boil it down to one - traffic times conversion.

If Offer A converts at 1% and Offer B at 3%, but B gets 3X the traffic, it's still a wash.

So it still boils down to the best marketer - the one best able to optimize the traffic x conversion answer.

This answer makes the most sense to me out of all of them.

          Hi Bill,

Great perspective -- you're absolutely right now that I think about it, and looking back at all of my previous product experiences it all depends on how well someone pitches a product to you. The experience, as you said, comes after.

This reminds me of the old "Rich Jerk" product that I 'fell' for a few years ago. I don't know how many of you have done the same and ended up purchasing the product. I admit he did a pretty interesting job at marketing the product but when I downloaded it I realized that I could have gotten all of the information for free if I did my own research.

I guess it really all depends on sales ability.
