Nothing seems to work...

I am doing SEO for my Website from past 1 year for more than 30 keywords & the website Ranks on Page 1 for 20 keywords except 1.

I tried everything - Backlinks, Bookmarking, Social Pages, RSS, Linkwheels, Press Releases, Forum comments, Blog Comments, Blogrolls, Article Submissions, Pinging, etc. but nothing seems to work for that 1 keyword.

Can Anybody explain why my website is not ranking well just for 1 keyword whereas for the rest 29, the Website is in Page 1.

I don't know if the 1 keyword you are struggling with is more than competitive than the other 29.

But either way, your best option might be to buy another domain and start a new site specifically for that keyword and start fresh.

Looks like most of your SEO has been off site. What have you done ON SITE to SEO that keyword?

      Thanks for the replies.

Yes, the 1 keyword for which the Ranking is not well is the most competitive but still the keyword should be on 1st or 2nd Page on Google because the other 29 keywords are also little competitive.

On-Page SEO is also done. Titles, Metatags, etc. are optimized for the 1 keyword.

I just cannot disclose the keyword, but on Google Keyword Tool the Global Searches for the keyword is 673,000

Yes, do not ever disclose that keyword. Since there are only 673,000 searches for it every month that means it is a rare and unique keyword that may very well hold the secrets to time itself! With such a powerful keyword in your hands I don't know how you can just sit there and type on the keyboard, surely your very soul must be radiating Internet Marketing power (over 9000!) because of the Holy Grail of Keywords you have discovered.

Are many of the other competing sites authority-type sites?
Even with good on-page and off-page seo, they can be hard to beat, in my experience.

With all due respect, the traffic from the other 29 must be good if the one keyword your not ranking for has that many searches. Do you use market samurai? They have an excellent module on there that shows you how strong the competition is in a lot of detail. Point is if the 29 ranked keywords bring in money, the one left just may need more time. If the other 29 don't make money, probably best to leave the last one alone. Really need a lot more info here.

I agree with Jeba if you are not willing to give us the information we need to help you then i suggest you Hire a SEO expert .

There is no way anybody who knows what they are dong can advise you without looking at you site and checking such factors as

      your backlinks
your cometitors backlinks and onpage optimization
The number of words on your competitors pages compared to yours
The average keyword density of the top ten websites

These are just a few of the factors that need to be checked before anyone can give you a REAL answer.

As others have suggested, you'll have to give details (keyword and site link) to get a solid answer here - something you probably don't want to do so you don't reveal your niche, etc.

    Here's my question:
If you are ranked for 29 out of the 30 keywords you wanted to rank for, then why are you spending time trying to rank for the 30th?

Look, you "hit" an average of nearly 97%! That's incredible.

Here's the thing. If your 29 other keywords aren't bringing you traffic and money, stop wasting time on the 30th one - they keywords are crap. You should consider diving into solid keyword research instead of trying to rank for that elusive number 30.

If the 29 others ARE making you money, then pat yourself on the back, forget about #30 and rinse and repeat with another niche, another site, etc.

Struggling to get that last keyword ranked makes no sense unless you aren't getting any traffic from the others. If that's the case, again I suggest that you may want to evaluate your keywords.

    All success,

    Gary
