Copyright infringement...

I've discovered audio products of mine available to download on hotfile.com (they're "hot" all right!). I'm sure many of you have experienced this and you know how infuriating it is.

But what gets my goat more than anything is that they sure don't make it easy for a property owner to enforce his/her rights! You would think that any notice from the legal owner would suffice and that the burden of any defense would be on the lawbreaker.

But no... I have to jump through hoops and fulfill their strict requirements to free my legal property from the hands of some lowlife. Go figure!

Look at it from the opposite point of view. What if you, as the product owner, had put something out there for free distribution, perhaps in order to promote your paid product, and it was easy for any of your competitors to get it removed from such sites with a simple eMail claiming it was theirs?

Dan's content is irregularly read by handfuls of people. Join the elite few by reading his blog: dcrBlogs.com, following him on Twitter: dcrTweets.com or reading his fiction: dcrWrites.com but NOT by Clicking Here!

Dan also writes content for hire, but you can't afford him anyway.
