Default Early Returns On My First Blog...Time To Eat Crow

Well, I've been doing a lot of this lately...eating crow.

For those of you who know me, you know that I essentially did all my writing
for EZA and as a guest author for other people's blogs and never bothered
putting articles on my own blog...until recently.

I won't bore you with all the details. I now have 100 articles on my blog and
the results are impressive. Adsense income, affiliate sales, my own product
sales, etc. A blog that was taking up space is now a money maker.

So once again, I was wrong about building up somebody else's VRE and
ignoring my own.

Yes, I am going to continue to submit to EZA and do my guest blogging,
but I'm no longer going to ignore my own real estate.

If I have to eat any more crow these days, I'm going to have to go on a
diet.

Steven,

Just add a little A1 sauce and the crow doesn't taste as bad.

Congrats on the blog success!

Have a Great Day!

When did you start seeing decent traffic? After how many articles ? I hope I'm not 100 articles away from seeing any results

Steven:

A blog can also help you drive traffic to other sites. You can use your words to build up
quite a little empire. Of course, you can extract revenue right from your own blog.

Don't forget that you are building and maintaining a relationship too. We use 2-3 blogs to
shovel a ton of good (free) content to our readers. Build up trust and find ways to help
others, and you will profit even more.

I know you know these little things. Just trying to remind other folks. ;-)

~ John

p.s. Don't forget to build your list too. (We need to get better at that...)

Blogs are really great at bringing in free traffic. I have checked one of my niche blog stats very recently and have seen my visitors at 3000+ a month with only 40 entries all targetting Keywords I had researched using the same principles as Bum Marketing.

This was mainly a experiment because I normally stick with Ezine Articles mainly for driving traffic but stumbled upon this accidently building up an authority in a niche outside of IM.

I didn't actually realise this was so powerful.

I am in the middle of putting a Blueprint together for myself to follow over the next few months and I will be concentrating on blogging (on my own host obviously). I will still use Article Marketing as a way to bring traffic into my blog until it's established and gets some good organic rankings and PR.

Yes Steven this is a great way to bring in traffic along with Article Marketing.

Let's see what happens over the next few months.

I am still plodding along and getting ready to start a major campaign to send traffic to my cooking blog.

I was wondering if you experts could answer a question for me. I have a list of long tail keywords for my niche. I have some experience in writing articles for a different niche but I was not doing it right I am sure.

Do you write a series of articles focusing on one keyword and then do the same for another? As you write articles on your blog do you target ezine articles to that keyword?

Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated.

Carol

Carol
I focus writing my blog post on keeping readers interested. I will target the main keyword in the title of my blog post similar to the techniques used in Article Marketing.

Whilst I am writing the post I will have a list of other highly searched keywords within the niche (that I've uncovered during the Keyword Researh Phase) that I will sprinkle in when I can.

Have you heard of LSI..? Check the forum if you haven't. This also helps Google rank your blog post/site as Google finds your site relevant by checking other related keywords.

Hope this helps some.

Steven, this must be a mistake. Wired magazine says blogs are dead and we should take them all down!

Blogs can be made very sticky and interactive and I'm sure Google will keep up the love if visitors keep visiting and content keeps being added..

Where is this article... Do you have a link??

Just a quick one...

I know you write all over the place, but did you choose to throw many categories into thew mix, or keep it tightened up to certain niche/sub market?

Yeah, yeah, yeah...kick a guy when he's up.

I should have one of those bulls eyes painted on my backside so people can

Okay, so I'm a slow learner and a stubborn cuss. At least I finally gave in.

Besides, at the rate I crank out articles, that blog'll be at the top of the SEs
in less than a year.

You fancy cranking out some articles for a few of my blogs?

I've also got a couple of domains that I want to sell, so thought about setting them up as blogs with articles and flipping instead! At the speed you do things, it could be for sale with 25 articles in a couple of days! HEHE

A whole year has gone by on my blog, and I still haven't reached 100 articles, I dunno how you do it!

Thanks
