Amazon.com Easy Tip To Make Money (Secret, but obvious)

Hello Everyone,

I published a thread several months ago with a bunch of advice and thousands of people read it and thanked me for the feedback - it has since been closed (it's old). The free tip I'm sharing today is new and not something I shared before. It's also an obvious tip but I think some people are missing the boat so I want to tell you how I use it to make money.

(Short Bio: I make over $60k profit per year from Amazon.com. I quit my job last year and do this along with several other projects for a living now. So I'm just saying I know my stuff. )

Tip: Subscribe to every possible Amazon.com email newsletter service

Why? Three Reasons:

1. It's the best way to find products on sale related to your niche that you can in turn quickly and easily repost on your websites.

If you're writing deal posts and using Amazon.com to make these posts Amazon will start to automatically email you deals (as long as you subscribe to their email service)

2. You can get ideas for new niches to target

Watch the emails for the deals they're running. Generally speaking they only send out emails on hot products so if you see minimal competition for a product they mail out about you can get some good money.

3. Most Important: You can make more money by promoting new Amazon.com company deals

For Example: I got an email the other day from Amazon.com about their new watches store on endless.com. Nothing big right? Well, Amazon wants to get more people buying through it so they are offering 15% on products sold through the watches store. (Max is usually 8.5%)

Here's the email:

Why does this matter? Well, if you run a website that is even loosely related to watches now's a good time to tell people about it.

Here's the commission from a watch I referred last year during the Christmas shopping season:

So instead of getting $454 I could get $851.25 next time I sell a watch like that. Granted in the example above I sold it during 2009 though. But if I continued to promote through just Amazon.com I would be making half of what I could make if I just switched my links over to Endless.com during the increased commission time period.

The point is - finding good deals to promote and niches to get into can be tough, but be sure to follow every email from Amazon because there is a constant flow of good deals coming in especially on new Amazon.com projects / subsidiary companies.

*Finger's Crossed: Here's to hoping we'll see an affiliate program for Woot.com now that it's an Amazon.com company*

We won't know if it's a good tip unless it's working for you. People don't know what endless is and might not buy.

Your main points were great though
I just got the email like 2 days ago, so I'm implementing the new links now and will let you know if conversion rate drops down etc. That being said, consumers are much less worried about buying things online than they were years ago and Endless.com is already a pretty well established brand anyway.

Yah, I've been doing Amazon stuff for about 2 years now and have been doing really well with it. I love Amazon

Great Stuff! I've been doing Amazon for a while with great success and love their news letters as you can get great extra commissions. Do you find it hard to get a site/article up before the bonus period ends though? I usually can't get a site really rocking before the bonus commissions end.

I don't think you need to start with a new site most of the time. You can take advantage of these specials in niches you are already in. And if the offer ends soon, you can always start a blogger blog, or create a Squidoo page, or a Hub page and still cash in!

I read your previous post about Amazon, and you opened my eyes for all the possibilities we can have with this huge company. It’s a trusted company online, and it really sells.

Thank you very much for your tips!

There is some good advice here on making money on Amazon...
I can't wait to use some of it!
I have a general question about selling on Amazon - suppose you took an ebook and from that ebook, can you upsell products from Amazon... can you sell a package of products (including an Amazon ebook) and or add them to a cart?

Well I own websites in a variety of niches and generally speaking can promote most product categories within them. So I suppose the tip is more focused on existing website examples.

After reading this thread, I'am thinking of making a sticky post on my blog, and posting amazon sales items to it.

When I get an email from amazon, just update the blog post with the newest items in my niche.

Can I insert my Amazon Aff. code inside of my own Iframe, then post the same Iframe on all my sites?

Is Amazon cool with Aff. posting Amazon products in our own Iframe (not Amazon Iframe code)?

I want to create Text-Ads that are similar to Google Adsense, then post my Iframe (includes Amazon Aff. ID) on my sites.

      Thanks,
Yukon, I just finished taking a quick scan of the Amazon Associate agreement and the Associates Program Linking Requirements, and I found nothing that prohibited what you propose. As long as the links themselves conform to the requirements, I don't see any difference in using the iframe vs. a php include, SSI include or outside ad management software.

If you read it yourself and still aren't sure, ask them.

Chris - are you doing any article marketing with these edeals or are you just doing on your website. I wonder if we could get more conversions by getting more affiliate links into eZine, GoArticles, etc.

I'm near certain iframe's are not allowed, but I never answer questions on policy for certain because it's always changing and I don't want to be responsible for telling you the wrong info. Just check with Amazon.

I never do article marketing. Never even tried it though to be honest, I always thought it was a scam and besides any traffic driven by article marketing isn't the best type of buying traffic anyway (for the most part).

The BUYING TRAFFIC likes to search for specfic products.....So if you can pinpoint the right products that have low competition, you can rank organically for the term and get steady traffic....Do your research!

Chris - Article marketing (along with Social Marketing, Social Bookmarking, Profile Bookmarking) does work. Have you heard of SENuke? I've been using this software for 49 days and have seen my traffic spike from 30 visitors a day to 130 in 45 days. The software is expensive ($127/mo) but I've seen a huge benefit.

On the 5th day of using the software I started a 60 day journal to see if it would be effective. Check it out for yourself at their forum under 60 day challenge. Get there by Googling: SENuke forum and clicking on Success Stories > 60 Day Challenge. I can't post links until I have 15 posts.

          Jeremy, here's the million-dollar question...

Are you making back your $127/month in increased profit from your increased traffic? Or are you just burning more bandwidth?

I'm not knocking SENuke (I know nothing about it), but any tool or tactic you spend money on has to pull its own weight on the balance sheet, or you shouldn't be using it...

I've been thinkig about promoting Endless.com for their larger commsision rates. Would love to know if the conversions are as good as it is on Amazon or at least close. Does anybody know? I am currently converting at 9.4% on Amazon which will be hard to beat.

            Cheers

I haven't heard of it before. Generally speaking I try to avoid automated linking programs because they're easily detected by Google.

It always depends on your market. 9.4% conversion rate is great - how much traffic are you pushing through / earning with Amazon? I sit around 3 - 4 percent and earn about $5k per month profit.
