Is There Really A Place for MRR Any Longer?

I've just spent some time scanning the WSO forum.

As expected, the definition of PLR and of MRR is wildly different between WSOs.

I'm of the mind-set that Private Label Rights would include Master Resale Rights...

--> Do you agree that PLR does/should include MRR?

--> Is there ANY value in just having MRR for a product (not PLR)?

--> If so, what markets have you been successful with offering just MRR (knowing that the original author's name is on it not yours)?

If you're going to limit the number of PLR copies sold, it would be impossible to also offer MRR, as that would completely negate the value.

As a seller, MRR is useful in that it maintains your exposure. As a buyer, MRR would be useful if you have a list of resellers.

Understood on the PLR limits Frank.

Mainly looking from a buyer's perspective - i.e., If YOU were going to buy a product from Marketer so and so, would you want it to be:

      Limited PLR (number of copies)
      Unlimited PLR
MRR so you could sell it to your list but be branding Marketer so an so

      Thanks!

I would almost always choose a limited release PLR product and alter the content for my own purpose.

But there are marketers (Todd Gross is one example) who have a specialist list of resellers and are therefore always on the lookout for products where they can pick up the Master Resale Rights and offer those products 'as they are' to their reseller customers.

Plenty of value in MRR if the quality is strong and there's enough demand for the product.

Remember that you can STILL take advantage of resale rights products by adding a "bonus" file with your own reports, links to content, and/or a free membership to something.

So even if you can't add your own info to the product itself, you can still add it into a package and have it go viral.

"I'm of the mind-set that Private Label Rights would include Master Resale Rights..."
    a common misconception

PLR and MRR relate to two different aspects of the product
PLR allows you to edit, dissect and claim authorship
MRR allows you to sell product and sell rights to selling the product

while many PLR come with resell rights - not all do
    and many have specific conditions

    - always read the label before use

Thanks Danny... We're essentially saying the same thing.

My perspective is that often PLR would/should come with MRR, and you DO have to read the label carefully!

I spent quite a bit of time in the WSO section looking at the differences in license agreements before posting - that was what drove the thread - asking what the community as a whole expected or if it was still a wild west.

Looks like we better keep our six shooters strapped to our hips for a while pardner.
