Newbie. Committed and ready to get good at this.

Some background info on me: 19 year old Law student to start University next week (top 7 Law school in the country).

Target: £10k in 12 months (not sure if achievable).

My credentials: I am a quick learner and even though i'm a total newb i will work my arse off in my spare time and learn well. I just need to know that my goal is possible with affiliate marketing. Any spare time i have, i guarantee if i find this goal is achievable, i will crack down hard on it , its the way i roll.

If anyone who has achieved my goal has ever been in the same boat, i just ask for some guidance, stuff you wish you knew when you started out.

If you have a spare 10 dollars or so, there is no better starting point than a book called Crush It by Gary Vaynerchuk.

Another great starting point is the war room. It's the best $37 you'll spend online.
hmm, care to elaborate on those suggestions? I'm not really in the financial position to be able to throw money around in a blase manner tbh lol so will need to know if they're good .

As i say, i love challenges like this, i need the money for something important to me, and i have the drive and ability to achieve things within the realms of possibility.

Most importantly though, what are the stumbling blocks that may appear in front of my goal? I want to be able to cut out newb mistakes asap , or at least really minimise them.

Edit: read your edit, ok, cheers my friend.

The war room "my ideas" section is from the person who started this forum. Since it's the biggest, most successful IM forum online, I'd think he'd be a good person to take advice from.

Without a doubt the stumbling block is the info. The internet is a scary place because ANYONE can put out ANYTHING and some will take it as the Gospel.

I gave you those two resources because those people are the REAL DEAL.

The main newbie mistake is buying, trying for a week, quitting...buying, trying for a week, quitting...and on and on and on.

Don't get caught in that cycle. Basic Business Principals. Product, Price, Service!

When did things start to click in place for you in terms of understanding the jigsaw better?

1 - Pick a method (affiliate marketing, CPA stuff, amazon, etc) and stick with it. Don't try to do 5 different methods at once. When you have completely mastered one, then you can start trying the others.

        2 - Work. Every day.

3 - The War Room membership is worth it. I will state though that if you don't want to spend that money just yet you can find tons and tons of useful info on the free side of the warrior forum, you just have to dig a little deeper and keep your bullsh*t detector set for maximum sensitivity.

Ok, i have bought the book dannyadams has suggested, it looks pretty neat so far.

Basic principles seem to be this:
-Choose a method, get bloody good at it.
          - Get traffic with trafffic generation methods (time management vital)
-List building (email list is most valuable asset for on demand, high quality traffic. Therefore i should become an expert at building a list and also be smart about traffic generation methods. Being good at copy helps i think)
-Drive and convert the traffic. (with variables which determine success such as web design, the sales page itself, targeting the right customers, writing an excellent copy)

Right, so now i need to pick a method and learn as much as i can lol.

If you have learned the right things, I'm sure it's achievable. however having over expectation will not be wise also.
