Has anyone experienced this?

Hi, I am a little perturbed to say in the least. Someone got a hold of some info for an account I had with cheap domains.com and caused me a lot of problems. After going back and forth not succeeding in fixing anything with customer support, I cancelled my paypal account since it was hacked as well with other issues I had to deal with.

Once I had cancelled my paypal account, my cheap domains name was automatically cancelled as well since they were linked. I tried to log in to my account at cheap domains, only to find out I was no longer a customer. So I contacted customer support, and asked them what I should do with the fact that I have 6 domain names hosted with them and can no longer change. move or do anything with them. They said they could not help me because I was no longer a customer. They didn't have any records of me.

Now my question is: Was this customer service rep being a jackass who didn't want to work? or can this type of situation really happen? If so, is there any other way to access my domains so I can change them and forward to where I would like them now?

Any help would be appreciated.

    of course they had a record of you. I mean, where there is money paid, there is always a solid record. Plain and simple.

    I used to work as a customer service agent and I can tell you this much: he might have not done it on purpose. He might have made a mistake when informing you.

    what usually works is call them, and ask for their name first thing. Make sure you're happy with the solution and if not, ask to talk to the manager.

    Sometimes customer service agents are kind of powerless when it comes to helping you out. What I mean is that they have rules that they have to follow and those rules might be impossible to adjust.
