What is an ideal payment method?

G'day mates!

I'm doing online games business and am now thinking about what is the most use-friendly payment method to my customers?

Well, pay pal sucks and most of my customers dropped me a line and said that credit card or some other payment methods are just too time consuming, not handy at all by and large.

Couple of days before, a mobile payment service providers contacted me and showed me a demo, and i reckon this is the thing my customers looking for.

Well, anybody here wanna shall a comment or experience?

Cheers

Try Mobile First, for people without credit card, it is a mobile payment solution

it is working for me and user pays within seconds. And it is really easy, user only need a mobile phone to complete transaction

    Hope it helps

The right payment method is the one that is easy to use and secure...

I don't see anything wrong with paypal, but there is also google cart and a proper merchant account...

Awhile back I was researching alternate payment solutions. PayPal was always at the top of the food chain. I also noticed if you get a Google Check-Out account, when your site is listed in the search results, you get that extra exposure with the Google Check-out icon, which might help. Not sure if the same thing happens on mobile apps?

But like TPW said, if you have a proper merchant account with one of the big ACH guys (CyberSource, AuthorizeNet) and have PayPal or Google Check Out as a payment option, you should be able to transaction globally.

    Hi Bret,

While it sounds like you have ruled PayPal out, you may wish to reconsider. At the very least, you could make it a payment option and still use other services. In other words, I don't think any single option is the "best" option. After all, you want to make it as easy and convenient as possible for everybody to buy.

I'm curious as well. Are you saying PayPal sucks based on your own personal experience, or is it based on all of the things you have heard from others?

    All the best,

Look up in the sky..It's a bird, it's a plane. It's the ALMIGHTY GOOGLE CHECKOUT!!! I had to do it sorry.

By far the best one out there. Money transfers quick, no real holds to speak of. And people just seem to trust the Google checkout logo.

I don't doubt that at all. But I have money in my PayPal account and prefer to use it for all of my online purchases. I have chosen not to buy things many times because PayPal wasn't an option. I am sure I am not alone.

It's not ONLY about trust, but convenience as well. So, it makes sense to me to use a few processors, PayPal, mobile, Google, or whatever combination would cover the widest number of people.

      All the best,
      Michael
