How many words should a Press Release have when submitting to online Press Release sites?

Thanks,

This depends on the site.....They all have a minimum and you need to at least make sure your press release is as long as the minimum. You are usually safe with 500 words.

My press releases (I have written more than 400 for myself or clients) are almost always 300 - 400 words. Below 300 words, I haven't fleshed out the idea enough, and above 400 words I'm usually trying to say too many things in a single release.

I would recommend between 300-600 words for a press release.

300-600 words is good, don't write like an article though.

Remember it's What, where, when, who etc.

It depends on the site your submitting it to but I would say 400 to be safe.

I have not seen press releases with more than 500 words in regular press release websites but in major news websites ( i.e CNN or ... ) you can see larger articles too.
