Why wont my site show up?

I launched a website today, luckily it got indexed but its not showing in searches. I am clueless as to what could be the reason, the on page seo is solid, keyword research was done nicely, and the domain has the keyword in it.

Are you sure it's indexed? Indexing in less than one day is pretty fast.

Usually I get get sites indexed in 2 - 4 days, but last week, one took 5 days (with exactly the same methods used).

unless it is for a very uncompetitive keyword, your website will not have enough authority to show up for that keyword.

You can determine if it has been indexed using the site:yourdomain.com in the search engine.

You can get indexed in around 10 minutes - especially with caffeine so that is not a problem.

It is however, a completely different matter in showing up for your keywords organically.

i did site:mysite.com and it is there.. it is indexed... but not ranking, however there are many new sites, pr0 and pr - sites there in the top 10, even in second page of google there are a few spammy sites. I am releasing press releases for it, i bookmarked it also and submitted the feed to aggregator, i just wish it starts showing up soon. BTW m happy atleast its indexed

If it is indexed you don't need to bookmark it.

Do your press releases for some quick traffic but even though there may be some spammy sites ranking now, I wouldn't expect to be number 1 just yet.

Keep building some value on your site and in your offline link networks and you'll get there! Good luck

If you have just launched and your website is not even 1 day old how can you expect to be ranking well already?

Yes there maybe websites ranking on the second page with PR0 but doesn't mean yours should be there instead. SEO takes time, it doesn't just happen, start back linking and adding unique useful content and I am sure you will be ranking soon enough.

I am not expecting it to rank, i know it takes time but honestly i have no idea why I am worried, maybe it's just my over enthusiasm..lol. And ya I am building backlinks, today doing the press releases(have seen tremendous improvements with it in the past for another site) , have bookmarked and fed the feed already, tomorrow gonna do the article submissions. The site is basically based on the xfactor method. At the moment has 2 pages of content which is very nicely optimised and is 100% unique and very informative.

Yes I hate it when the sites I create fail to reach page one on Google within 24 hours. It's so infuriating!

On a more serious note OP you need to spend your time building backlinks to your site. It's the only way you'll get it to where you want it to be. But it won't happen overnight. In fact it rarely does. Even when you know what you're doing.

Good luck on your journey though!

Thanks for your little pinch of sarcasm, although i didnt mention page 1 anywhere. I just couldn't find it anywhere within first 100 pages. I asked people here because i havent experienced this before(getting indexed but not ranked) thats why wanted others to share some of their experiences. Anyways thanks for wishing me luck, no hard feelings

You might even find it on page 95.

Just because it is indexed, does not mean that it will show up on page 1 or 2.
