Acne Niche--Recommendations?

Hey Guys,

I'm in so many different niches right now and I've done pretty well with some of them. However, I want to focus more on niches now that will provide lasting income and where I have an interest/knowledge already. This way I can develop a list, a website, and possibly a product down the road.

I've been thinking hard and researching what niches I should go into (that won't bore me after a week)...and it has lead me to acne.

Is anyone in this niche or have tried this niche yet? If so, are there good affiliate programs out there for this (and which ones)?

I've had my share of acne problems in the past and I have a ton of knowledge about this subject so I know I can create good content and help others.

But I just want to make sure I don't do a bunch of work and find out there aren't good products to promote.

Also, is it better to target teens or adults for acne? Thanks.

There are many many products on clickbank and paydotcom to do with Acne, it is quite a competitive niche in the IM world so you will have your work cut out.

However do not let that discourage you, it just means you will have to work extra hard to ensure your site reaches a good level of success in the search engines.

      Hey Daniel,

      Thanks for the response.

Another thing I wanted to do was promote tangible acne products...and not just ebooks about it. Because people will only buy so many acne solution ebooks on my list. However, I feel like they could potentially buy different products over time.

So does anyone know any good tangible acne products to promote that have affiliate programs that convert decent (that are good products)?

      Thanks.

I was looking into proactiv products with a 17% comm (aff link at bottom of their page), because my sister uses it and loves it. She has adult onset acne at 61 years old! She has it mailed to her every couple of months, so recurring comm. there also. Think Baby Boomer market...I expect that market to get much bigger, IMO.

Notthing against Proactive. But why promote someone that pays 17% commission when you can promote products that are equally as good and pay 30 - 50% commission? ;-]

Try moreniche.com. They have an acne product with a lifetime cookie.

Also, their site seems to convert well

I just launched an Acne/Skin Care PLR blog in Complete Sites for Sale.

As for tangible products, the way I would go is with Market Health acne products. Market Health has always been a good converting program for me.

Great recommendations sbucciarel and maryn. I have checked out both sites and like both.

I know from experience proactive is pretty good so I look into this.

I'm still not sure which submarket to target yet because I'm young so I'm thinking people in their teens and 20s but not totally sure.

Also, I want to make sure this can be a steady business over time where i can promote numerous products.

Proactive would be a great product to sell because it is well known and it actually works.

The answer to this one's going to come only from testing, I suspect.

For myself, I'd be very reluctant to promote websites aimed specifically at teenagers, even knowing the incidence of acne is highest in this group (and even having been one myself until quite recently!), simply because of the proportion unable (through lack of credit-cards/PayPal) to purchase online: I think many are looking for "free information" and those are really not people I particularly want on my lists.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, I simply couldn't help myself!

@ TheWebGuy... have you found an acne affiliate program you've been searching for and if so, how are you getting on? Any feedback would be great.

target adults. In our society it's acceptable for teens to have acne but it's still considered 'odd' for adults (though 1 in 5 do.)

That means adults will be more willing to try something. Especially if they don't have to go to the doctor for it.

Also, there are specialty products out there for combating both wrinkles and acne, and it costs a fortune.

You can also target the parents of teens who suffer with acne. I know when my kids were teenagers (only a couple of years ago) I would spend money on them before I'd spend it on myself. I think it's the same for most parents. We can't stand to see our kids suffer so we want to try and help.

This is great advice I tested this with several health niches, and it always worked. You may want to target parenting ezines, groups, blogs while advertising. Facebook advertising can be great for this niche, but it's a bit tricky.
Little ebooks with titles like 'how to help your teen with ... problem' work fine too.

I also recommend you follow Miley Cyrus and some other teen idols on Twitter Not kidding. Girl's most tweets are sponsored by health companies that may offer affiliate programs. Dig 'em.

You may want to take a look at magazine ads also.

PS. I know this is an old thread but can still help others with similar questions, right?

In terms of potentially achievable Google position (== Traffic), those health niches and in particular Acne have gotten VERY HARD to rank, if not virtually impossible.

Page #1 in Google is dominated by gov sites , bbc, mayo clinic and other high authority sites, you wont have a chance to rank high. This is a TOUGH niche for SEO, but also for PPC this is a niche which is extremely saturated with bids out of this world.

I personally would not make a site seeing that there is no way to get organic Google traffic. Different story if you build a list or something, but i am a SEO guy.
