Help with sales funnel please!

Hi there,

We've been building up our site for a year now at Healthy Mind – Fit Body: Fitness & Weight Loss Psychology for Optimal Nutrition and Proven Results

Our product is a book package- ebook, audiobook, and 2 more audios and a video as bonuses.

We have the products on ejunkie.

We have a weekly podcast, blog about 3-4 times a week, and have a 7-series autoresponder, as well as FB & twitter regularly.

Almost everything is going well- podcast listenership has exploded, opt-ins are way up, and traffic has also exploded- we're now getting consistently over 200 visitors a day.

But there is 1 HUGE problem- nobody is getting to our sales page! We're promoting it on the autoresponder and a little in the podcasts. But we get few views to that page, therefore, very few sales.

How can we flip the switch and get people to our sales page regularly???

Thanks!
Kevin

What is your sales page URL?

Are you promoting your sales page directly or just through your funnel?

Are you continuing to follow up with your subscribers about your product?

wow just checked out your site looks good man, real good.

In order to get people to the sale page and more eager to buy. I would promote the 2 books on the bottom (correct) and include a buy now link or something. Know what I mean? I went on to check out the actual books and I saw the add to cart link at the bottom and it was so tiny. Make it stand out with some graphics or something. Very nice setup though. Clean and very informational.

Do your subscribers land on your sales page once they confirm their opt-in? (Having no interest in this niche, I don't want to subscribe in order to see what your funnel looks like.)

Could you explain what happens at each stage in the process once a prospect has subscribed? Without that information, it's difficult to make suggestions.

What kind of open rate do you have on your email blasts?

What's the click through rate? I'm presuming it's low based on your original post, but do you have it or are you tracking low visits to the web site via web logs?

The list is only 535 right now...open rate is decent.

            OK. Here's the thing though.

            (All numbers rounded)
            535 * 1% = 5 opens
            535 * 70% = 375 opens

At an astonishing 70% open rate, even if you got 100% click through, that's only 375 visitors per month. You'll more likely see only a portion of that as an open rate, and another slice of that that actually clicks through.

@Loren Woirhaye has it down, and @Scott Million is giving some good advice as well... No reason to repeat their efforts myself.

the reason people are probably not responding to your email
marketing of your sales page is because the appeal you are
using does not move them to click.

Your open-rates may be poor as well. The only way to track
open rates is with HTML emails.

I looked at your sales page and can definitely see why it's
not converting well, but your core question was how to get
    more traffic to it, right?

Well, maybe it's because you've got it at the bottom of
your blog and not the top. Maybe it's because you're calling
it an "ebook" in your ad (which makes it pretty unexciting) -
a "system" or "formula" is a far more appealing package in
    my opinion.

You've also set up your ad as a "review" when it truth your
    review is your commercial.

The key to an effective sales funnel is a "slippery slope" -
which isn't easy to figure out, but basically you make a
promise at the beginning of every segment and deliver on
the promise in some way at the end. The end point is the
sale of course, but when the selling funnel is segmented
you need to give people a compelling reason to keep moving
forward in it... so compelling that by the time they reach your
actual sales pitch they are already in the buying mood and
concerns of your credibility, et al have been assuaged
    in the prospect's mind.

This should solve the bulk of your issues...

    1) Your first thank you page is the auto landing page from Aweber. Couple ways you can go here, but if you're going to stick with the confirmed opt-in (optional with Aweber) what I would do is have a custom page here that directs them to check their email for the download link, and below that you can either do a "you'll only see this once" and offer them a discount on your product angle, or go for a short presell that talks about a problem common to your market (that fits in with your offer) and promises the answer on X (link to your sales page)

    2) I also just noticed the second thank you page after clicking on the confirmation link just shows the Aweber standard thank you. You should instead put up your own page with the downloads at the top and then apply something like the above. Note that it's better if you embed your audios on this page rather than providing the download so that they have to hang out while listening and will likely read through your content while listening.

    3) When I click on the download link in the email, you send them right to an amazon S3 page with the audio and there's nothing else... Instead, follow what I was talking about in part 2, by embedding the audio on a page with a presell or even the sales letter right below.

Haven't gotten to your day 2 email yet, but hopefully you use this opportunity to send them again to the audio page if they haven't listened yet (an excuse to let them see your offer again.)

These will make a very big difference for you... making your offer visible to 100% of those who subscribe and listen to the freebie audio you provide.

After that, a lot of ways you can go. Will see what you're next emails show and give you suggestions if you'd like.

    Scott

PS... for your video sales letter that little tiny add to cart hyperlink doesn't make me want to click. Consider using an attractive big button, and having it appear at a strategic location during your video (right when the call to action hits.)

Also, add an attractive headline and make it pretty! Elude to some secret or benefit they'll discover by watching the video (so they'll watch, lol.)

With a couple tweaks like I mentioned above you should be doing EXTREMELY WELL instantly, since the traffic is already there...

BTW wrote everything above the PS before realizing it was a video sales letter. You can still apply the above by writing a presell about what they're about to experience by watching your video and linking to it.

Lastly, lol, you should really consider having someone on the WF creating some awesome graphics for the video salesletter landing page. It will pay for itself very quickly...

You're right on the edge for a serious income boost

Also should add, I don't have time to listen to the audio, but hopefully it ends with a presell for your offer and a call to action to head to the next step, your video salesletter (if embedded on a page consider an auto-redirect after listening.)

You don't have to rerecord it either, just add it to the end of your audio (but the landing page is better)
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[2554022].message }}
  • Profile picture of the author Scott Million
Update: Listened to the very last part of your audio and your call to action is to go to the blog... put the audio on a landing page instead and direct them in the audio to read/click below to find out the secret(s) to x... whatever makes sense with your video sales letter.

You can send them to your blog later via an email, but anyone who listens all the way through your audio is VERY warmed up and in the perfect state of mind to head to that sales video and make a purchase... I even think that a short written sales letter below the audio will do better in this case than going from the audio to a long video that has a different tone. You've already accomplished the trust with the audio and should be able to grab sales right from it after you reconstruct the end properly.

Hopefully your podcasts are directing traffic to your squeeze page, and not the blog...? If so, that's why with 200 visitors per day you're not collecting nearly as many leads as you should.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my post! All great advice! To those who have PM'd me, I will respond directly.

Ok, apparently, I can't respond to PM's because I only have 25 posts. But, Scott, I wanted to THANK YOU for your great message! And, I have a question:

With the way my opt-in thank you page is, they get an audio bonus which is 21 minutes long. Do you think I should still send them to my video sales page from there, or, just have a shorter pitch and link to the cart? If I can PM you I'll send you the rest of my 7-series autoresponder...

      Cheers,
      Kevin

Do what scott million said and add up your emails. Instead of having 7, add about 30 days of emails.

If you aren't a pro at copywriting already, it will take some time to get high conversions from emails. You could expect to convert at 1 sale out of 50 to 100 opens per email in the beginning.

So the key is to have more emails which will help get more opens and thereby lead to more sales in the beginning. But send broadcasts and try improving your skills.

    - Learn to craft subject lines that get them to open first

    - And then learn to create truly compelling emails that get them to click

Other than that... follow Scott Million's advice. Its solid.

Your site is designed to capture a lead. Definitely not for selling your products (at the bottom of page). You can only have 1 goal to achieve realistically and optimally.

GET the opt-in and on your "Thank You" page get them to your offer. "Thanks for subscribing, check your mail box blah, blah blah, While your here check out this important message about losing fat quickly and permanently".

You've received some stellar advice so far. The only thing I'd add is this...

Once you implement & test that advice and have a handle on your conversion rate, get busy building an affiliate program.
