Would you fall for this "Rich Dude Giving Away 33 iPad's. Click to Read More"

I was searching ebay listings earlier for an iPad and i came across this listing:

Rich Man Giving Away 33 New iPads

Hi. My name is Steve EDITED, and I am giving away on behalf of my company, 33

BRAND NEW iPads.

It was my idea to give away these free iPads. I realized that many

people always wanted one, and so many wished to have one for

their birthdays, but they were not able to get it.

This is why I am Giving Away to the next 33 ordinary people, a BRAND NEW

60GB iPad, purely out of my own generosity.

Here is what you must do:

1. Do NOT bid on this listing.

2. Go to (His link to the website)

and do one of my company's surveys free of charge.

3. ENJOY your BRAND NEW 60GB iPad
4. Love it FOREVER
------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now, can you spot where IM comes into play here.
What's amazing is how many people have fallen for this, judging by this guy's poor feedback rating.
I fell for one of these "surveys" quite a while back and it's never ending, and that's what they count on, most people will just give-up after 5-10 minutes.
Personally i detest this kind of false advertising, but each to his own i suppose.

I'd also like to mention that iPads do not come in 60GB, so even if he does have 33 to give away he hasn't looked at them!

I suppose if people see FREE they will jump at the chance, human nature I guess!

      Hi salegurus,

It's CPA, and stale old stuff designed for complete newbs. People would be much better off spending their time building a business instead by actually helping people forward on their journey and reaping the rewards of turning their customers into superstars, rather than sending people backwards.

Humans are so unconstructive/uninventive at times, it's a shame. But don't let it distract you or hold you back - contribute to human evolution and get paid at the same time!

They used to forward those free ipod, free whatever CPA offers in email chains back in the day. Send this to 4 friends and if they complete 3 offers you win an ipod! Very old school CPA. Yawn.

Sad thing is my kids go online and sometimes come across things like this and get all excited 'Hey Mum I can win an ipad' then I have to explain to them how it's just a big scam and they can't win one at all.

I think my kids are pretty aware of things like this now, but the poor things were getting a little excited there for a while.

That reminds me of when I've had to explain that to my grandfather. By the time I was done explaining, I'm not sure who he believed: me or the ad lol.

While I'm pretty sure that most of us (if not all of us) would know not to fall for a scam like that, a lot of people still don't.

Just remember that if it sounds too good to be true...

      Agreed
It's not distracting, i just thought to post it here as there are still many people new to IM who might not recognize that this is not a good way of doing business. IMO

Well the same person had about 18 similar listings, all have been removed, i wont be surprised if their acc has been suspended.

You are right it has been around for a long time, but it's still effective. Last i checked bids were up to $425, a lot of people don't read listings carefully they just see "WOW 64Gig iPad, 1 min left and only $400"

Think of how stupid the average person is, and realize half of them are stupider than that.
