Outsourse app creation?

But has anyone here outsourced an iphone app that you have sold and made some good money with?
I heard from a friends friend that he make half a million dollar from an iphone music app that he created.
If I have a good idea do you think I should puruse someone who could outsource this creation for me, any idea how much a creation like this would cost on average?
