Payment Processing for Sales Page?

I've been looking at a lot of sales pages and I've noticed that the Buy button almost always goes to a clickbank, e-junkie, or some other third-party processor. I don't understand why they are not going directly to PayPal?

What's the advantage of having the extra step of going through clickbank (or the like) considering that the purchaser is still going to have to use papyal, anyway?

Thanks.

There are a lot of extra features that are being offered by third party processors such as e-junkie for example. I've used them before to sell a digital product and so they offered storage and delivery of the digital product after payment processing by PayPal. There are other shopping carts and third party services that offer something else in addition to the actual payment processing offered by PayPal. I don't know if PayPal offers a digital download product (I'm guessing that they do not since I had to look for a third party application to do this -- but correct me if I'm wrong anyone).

  • Because not everyone likes or uses PayPal.

3rd party processors also usually offer other services, such as wider acceptance of different types of cc cards, statistical reporting, upsells, etc, etc. Plus, some of the ones you mentioned have affiliate services (i.e., clickbank).
